My brother's previous care home closed, and he moved to the Windmill several months ago. What struck me immediately was the genuine care and warmth of staff at the Windmill. Family members are encouraged to play a full and active part in the life of the centre and events are organised so that residents
can experience the joy of contact with the external community, including trips out and in-house entertainment that is provided by both lay and religious community groups.
Today, I attended a resident and family get-together with staff and residents. I could not have been more impressed with input provided by the staff, each member describing their role in the organisation and how they see the care centre moving forward in the future. The new management set-up is most impressive, displaying an in-depth knowledge of the nursing needs of residents and the training arrangements to develop staff skills further, with invitation for family members to come along also.

My 1st impression was how well maintained the gardens and carpark. Inside, very clean and fresh. The staff I met on the day were friendly and very approachable. The bedrooms were clean and not cluttered. The dining room is set up like a restaurant with a good selection on the menu. All in all, I was
very satisfied that my sister's mother-in-law was well looked after. I got the impression the motto of person centered, was very much in place here.

I cannot rate the team at Hawthorns highly enough! From the lovely staff on reception through to the support maintenance staff and the carers, chefs and nurses, everyone take the time to genuinely engage with residents, visitors and relatives. I recently visited with my family from Australia and it
was very emotional seeing my mum unable to walk and in aged care for the first time. The staff made us so welcome and always go over and above to truly care and love the people in their care. The food is freshly cooked and everyday there are amazing homemade cakes!

The center is excellently managed and you can tell the team works really well together in what is a highly stressful industry. I leave feeling very reassured and grateful that my mother is in such good hands. The combination of caring and expert nursing care is also very good, and they always make my Dad so welcome as he visits daily and stays a long time. There is a great range of of activities on a daily basis too!

However after a lovely visit from the fabulous Rachel whose reassuring conversation made her realise it would be a good opportunity to give it a try

On our visit to view Garden Hill we instantly had a good feeling about the home itself and the staff. Since my mums admission we have experienced care, empathy, friendliness, from both staff + management. My mum has now been a resident for 2+ months and is very happy + feels comfortable in her surroundings.
Mum was had a couple of little non serious falls, communication to me was very prompt which is very reassuring. Overall we are very happy with all aspects of the home - in particular the brilliant activities managed by a wonderful activitiy co-ordinator.
