The care home is excellent at managing the needs of dementia patients; they don't rush them, and they go out of their way to help the relatives understand. Their knowledge is first class, and they care for all of the residents with compassion, patience and care.

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
Very poor experience of CROFT unit.
Staff lackadaisical.Care poor.
Mum transferred from hospital for 6wk assessment but little done.
Home care was inadequate and poor.
Mum was found on floor shortly after being transferred to chair on
Mum often not fit to be in a chair.
The chair was not
suitable for mum and a pillow was used down 1 side to supposedly correct postural lean due to dementia.
OT needed to assess for her needs.
Mum sustained a fractured femur from the fall .Paramedics arrived about 1and a half hrs later .Mum remained conscious throughout.
.However, Mum suffered a type 1 heart attack and type 2 respiratory failure as a result of the stress of the fall at 90yrs of age and her underlying health conditions. She was conscious but unresponsive by the time she arrived at hospital .
Nothing further could be done and num was put on end of life care.
She died 3wks later.
Appropiate monitoring, assessments and care needs were not met .
I do not recommend CROFT !

Overall good, however access in the evenings at weekends and evenings is still poor - sometimes waiting UK to 10 minutes to fain entry.
Additionally the 'day bell' has been out of order fir around 2 weeks - not acceptable
Reply from Paul Lawson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Norwood Care HomeThank-you very much for your review and feedback, which is vital to us as we strive to maintain the highest standards throughout. The door-bell was faulty and working intermittently so we ordered a new and improved unit and an additional internal chime bell has been installed which will increase staff awareness and response times when a visitor rings the bell. Thanks again and apologies for any inconvenience caused. Best wishes

Parklands Court has been a great residential care setting for my Aunt. She has made some great connections with the staff and some good friendships with the other residents. As someone with advanced dementia, she benefits strongly from specialist 24/7 care and great social facilities to spend time with
other residents. Any request that she or the family have has always been dealt with quickly.

My mother was admitted to Madeira House for respite care after several weeks in hospital. I found that all the staff were very kind and caring. They treated my mother with respect and were friendly towards her. Julie the manager was extremely helpful and Jade too when Julie wasn't available. They provided

Mom moved into parklands court October 2025, as we were struggling with her care .the rooms are bright and airy and clean.all the staff are friendly and professional and go above and beyond your expectations. Every member of staff knows the residents by first names which is lovely. The staff take the
time to talk to you and keep you up to date on your relative. Mom sadly passed away in February 2026with myself and my husband by her side ,the staff were so supportive in such a distressing time ,we cant thank them enough. Once again again our family would like to thankyou you all for doing such an amazing job.

Mom has dementia and became a resident of Ryland view in December 2024, after suffering severe health issues. The outlook for her wasnt good, but the staff at Ryland have been amazing and she is now thriving! They talk and laugh with the residents, provide regular entertainment in the form of singers,
crafting, music....they are treated with kindness and respect. A friendly, caring, forever home for our loved ones. I will always be grateful to them for taking such good care of my mom.

My sister and I fell in love with Burrswood when we visited before my mum arrived. There was a warm homely feeling. The staff are lovely, the residents are all friendly. The food is fabulous and mum is eating a lot more. She seems settled and happier. They are on the ball when health problems arise.
I would recommend this care home to others.

Goldielea Residential Care Home

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mother spent two weeks of respite care in Goldilea Care Home in January 2026.. It was the first time she had ever spent any time in a care home, so we were all quite nervous about how she would manage. Actually I probably found it harder leaving her there! On the whole the staff were lovely &
ready to help in any way. She had lots of people to visit every day and were made very welcome. My mother didn't enjoy the food much, but she didn't have much of an appetite. (I thought the food usually looked quite nice - and I read lately the chef has recently won an award.) They were always happy to make something she'd like instead. Goldilea is an old house which could do with some updating, but overall we were happy with the level of care she received. The Manager was very helpful and most of the staff involved in her care were friendly and professional. Obviously being at home is preferable, but we were grateful for the opportunity for respite care.

From day one of my mother-in-law moving into West Ridings she was so well looked after and genuinely cared about. There was regular entertainment wonderful meals and celebrations. We all loved the summer house and fish pond we sat there and enjoyed a cuppa of fish and chips. My mum-in-law has sadly
just passed away now but feel that the amazing staff were all part of a very special family we will be going back to visit.

Golfhill Care Home

My mother has been a resident at Golfhill for 7 weeks now, and the transformation has been incredible. She is absolutely flourishing. The entire team-from the nurses and carers to the senior management like Santoshi and Stacey-has been exceptional. They are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and consistently
go the extra mile.
A major highlight is their effort to communicate with my mother in her native language; for a resident with Stage 1 Dementia, this has been a massive plus for her comfort and dignity. While this home wasn't my first choice initially, it is a true "hidden gem." My mother's wellbeing has improved significantly compared to her time in hospital. 1st class service.
