Our experience of our dad's stay at River Court in Watford has been very positive. Any initial problems were promptly addressed. The service and care to attention was excellent. I have found all the staff to be both very polite and friendly. The management team of Owai & Cynthia have been first class.
Always very responsive to any requests. Very prompt & professional.

The staff at River Court Care Home are lovely. They treated my mother in law who died 2 weeks ago. My mother in law loved all of the staff and especially had a soft spot for Prabhu and Jair. I wish I could remember the other staff's name. Thank you all for looked after my mother in law so well in her

My dad has been living at Chess House for several years now, and I can honestly say it has been the best possible place for him. From the very beginning, the care and kindness shown by everyone has been exceptional. Under Maggie's thoughtful and compassionate leadership, the carers go above and beyond
every single day.
What makes Chess House so special is not just the professional care, but the warmth and genuine affection the staff show. They treat my dad like family, and they have taken the time to get to know all of us too - they know every member of our family by name, and that personal touch means the world. Whenever I visit, I feel welcomed, included, and reassured that my dad is surrounded by people who truly care about. It gives me so much peace of mind to know he is safe, comfortable, and valued in such a loving environment.
I would recommend Chess House wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a place where their loved one will be looked after with dignity and respect.

River Court is a beautiful home with loving and caring staff. My mum gets taken on lots of day trips and gets to socialise within the community.
The food is tasty and well presented. My mum is happy at River Court.

Mum went into Woodlands for a respite stay, which we extended because she clearly benefitted from the input we were unable to provide at home. The consistent rota of carers was warm and welcoming to Mum and the whole family from the outset. Nothing was too much bother - the cheery, good- humoured way
things are done there made a difficult set of circumstances seem easier. They took a keen interest in her wellbeing and were very perceptive about her needs. She, initially, had reservations about not having an en suite, which is the only downside, but that was increasingly irrelevant as her stay progressed. When mum had a medical incident requiring an ambulance, it was reassuring to have such a compassionate and efficient carer stay with her all the way through. Our experience has been entirely positive and I wish I could name the individuals who made it so.

I have been here 5 years. Came during covid lockdown due to complications with covid left me unable to put pressure on foot for 6 months, after which I could not walk. I find the care received here exemplary, nothing is too much trouble from nurses, care staff, activities staff, laundry and cleaning
and kitchen staff. They are all kind and helpful, my personal care is well looked after. If something I won't eat on the menu, chef will make alternative. I would highly recommend River Court for short or long term care.

Although mum was only at the home for a very short time the staff showed empathy, compassion and kindness and were wonderful with her. Within days they had her up, washed and dressed and sitting in a chair - something hospital staff had said would never happen. Mum was looking forward to having her
hair done, nails painted and seeing the chiropodist and after many months was feeling more positive about life which is completely down to the staff. Sadly she passed suddenly and didn't get to experience the leisure activities at the home which were also excellent. A special thank you also to the Managers who went above and beyond helping in the battle to get mum discharged from an out of county hospital and the support that they offered us as a family.
