Leighton Court Care Home

from J W (Wife of Resident) published on 8 September 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

I had to leave my husband in respite care for 2 weeks while we were having building work done at home.
It was an eye opening experience as to the amount of work the staff have in caring for the residents. They work so hard & with empathy towards the residents. The food is plentiful & of good quality
but maybe a little more help with residents needing to have their food cut up for them.
In general I was pleased with the care given to my husband as he didn't settle particularly well. I would take him there again if it becomes necessary & if they had the space obviously.

My wife and I visited our friend at Fazakerley House. Our friend was sat smiling with a staff member who was showing her family pictures. Management should be so proud of their staff and how they interact with residents. This home is well managed, and I would highly recommend Fazakerley House Care Home,
where residents are well cared for; the staff and management are amazing.

I visited my friend who is living with dementia. On my arrival, the home was calm, and staff friendly and welcoming. I was directed to my friend who was sat with a staff member who was going through family photos. The look on her face was a picture. Staff go above and beond in this care home.

Our Mum us currently staying in Stapley House. She was very poorly recently and put on end of life care. The staff have been amazing and shown nothing but care, kindness and empathy to not only our mum but as a family. They acted quickly and professional and thankfully our mum is now feeling much better.
Our experience in Stapley is a very positive done with warm, friendly approachable staff, who make our mum and us feel welcome and comfortable. They never stop and its appreciated! Thankyou.

My mother-in-law moved into Larkhill Hall care home last month. The transition from hospital to care was smooth and seamless. The support we had from the staff was excellent. The manager was on hand with all our queries and ensured my mother-in-laws needs were all taken care of, whilst being there when
she felt a little anxious, encouraging her to participate in the many activities that are available. The manager spent time with her and us to ensure all went well. Thank you to the manager and all the staff.

Mum's own words about Mersey Parks Care Home on Sefton Unit. She told my sister that she was very happy at Mersey Parks, that she was very well looked after, the food was good, and that the staff are kind. My sister said Mum didn't need to be assisted to say this. As a family, we feel the care on Sefton
Unit is exceptional.

Mersey Parks Care Home

from William M (Son of Resident) published on 30 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum had been in a different residential care home before an extended admission to hospital. On her discharge she required nursing care.
I visited many care homes to find one that was suitable and that we felt as a family could provide the care that mum deserved and that we felt reassured by. Some fell
far below the standard that I would wish for anyone needing residential care let alone nursing care.
We eventually found Mersey Parks and I cannot speak highly enough of the care that she received in the very short time she was there. We were there every day and all the staff were passionate, caring helpful and supportive. A credit to the caring profession.
Mum unfortunately passed away on Christmas day 2024 and the communication between the nursing staff and the family allowed us to be with her when she passed away. The dignity and compassion that the caring and nursing staff showed to both us and mum on that day was so kind and comforting and will never be forgotten. Thank You

I have found all care of my 92 year old mother excellent. Staff are happy and fun. Qualified nurses very quick to respond to changes in her condition as appropriate. Staff have good efficient access and support from the community. Matron and GP if required. Although mum has difficulty in speech staff
understand what she needs. There is lots of fun and laughter. Thank you.

My wife was out into her first care home in April 2024 by her daughter. While there I had words with a male and female carers who were demanding my wife to use her simar frame and stand up, which my wife had no chance of doing. Here in her present care home, both carers and staff are brilliant in the
way the residents are treated and helped. Here in this care home, both carers and staff, do their very best do this.

Ash Court Care Home

from M W (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5

Whilst I appreciate the home is trying its best, I feel particularly at weekends, it is understaffed. The activities coordinator has been on long-term sick with no replacement which is poor. The home is being refurbished, but my mum's room hasn't. I know to do this work is difficult, but a plan should
be made. We are told no one can change rooms but clearly people have. One shower has been out of order for some time.
Finally, I feel that I have to chase for information/updates, eg doctors' assessment- what was results/ DOL's update/medication.

I am pleased my husband has settled; he seems quite content here. The staff are wonderful, especially one staff member, she seems to help everyone, every time I come in, she is helping someone. Mind you, they are all good. I am quite happy at last, I did not want him to go into care because I have looked
after him for 24 years at home but I am happy now.

Larkhill has been a truly exceptional place for my mother, and I couldn't be more grateful. From day one, the staff have shown remarkable care, warmth, and professionalism. It's clear that residents here are treated with the utmost dignity, respect, and kindness. We are grateful for the outstanding
support she receives every day. The team goes above and beyond-not only meeting her needs, but enriching her life with genuine compassion and thoughtful attention. The home itself is warm, welcoming, and full of life, with a strong sense of community. Activities are well-planned and inclusive, and communication with families is excellent. Larkhill offers true peace of mind, knowing our loved one is in such capable and caring hands. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking the very best in care and support. I would like to particularly say thanks to the home manager, she is amazing and leads by example and is a fantastic role model for all her staff. Thank you all

I have been here 5 years now. I couldn't walk when I came in and I still can't walk. I live in Stapley Unit. I bless the carers every night. They do a great job, but when I want to go to the toilet I have to wait as the staff are busy getting people up. The food is nice, the cleaners are here every
day, the place is spotless. We went to the glasshouse yesterday and played dominoes. The only complaint is I only get a bath once a week. I feel this is very poor - we need extra staff especially in the morning.
