My mother recently passed away but in her 18 months living at Church View she was exceptionally well cared for and truly considered it her home. The very high standards of are and genuine nature of care staff made this a home where mum felt safe, comfortable and looked after.

Review of Abermill Care Home from Karen G (Daughter of Resident) published on 22 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our Dad was brought to the home in February as his wife had had a fall and had been admitted to hospital and Dad was not able to look after himself. From the day he arrived the staff have been kind, caring, respectful and treated him with dignity. Whenever we visit, his room is clean, the food is excellent and the staff are always on hand if he needs anything. We are regularly kept informed of any treatment he requires and are very grateful and relieved that he is being so well looked after. Thank-you to all the staff.

Review of Trafalgar Park Care Home from Andrea R (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

I am writing this review about the activities co-ordinator at Trafalgar Park, who is an absolute delight! This person is caring, kind, supportive, funny, happy, professional, loving and takes the time to make every individual feel special. This person is in the right job, has put in place a weekly timetable including bingo, gardening club, hobby club, quiz of the week, music movement, as well as arranging singers and animal grooming, something for everyone. She has a beautiful smile, a gentle voice and engages with everyone. She goes out of her way to give me updates and photos of my dad in everything he takes part in. She is an asset to the home!

Review of Church View Care Home from C L (Wife of Resident) published on 19 May 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

He was not shaved or showered often enough. His room was not cleaned properly sometimes. My husband was sent to hospital without a carer escorting him. It was specifically requested that he be accompanied by a carer, as a family member was unavailable. It was not made clear that he would be looked after when he got to the hospital. There was a lack of communication which caused anxiety.

I am very happy with the response time, getting my mother into the home. The staff have been excellent and the facilities are very good. My mother has picked up healthwise physically and mentally since arriving. She has even started walking with a frame thanks to her carers. She had not walked for 6 months prior to this. I cannot say a bad word about Trafalgar Park. They are amazing.

Our loved one recently became a resident at AM. Since our first visit, we have felt nothing but kindness and also very welcome.

All the staff are absolutely lovely and clearly care about the residents. Stephanie runs it very well and is always very welcoming. Debbie, the entertainment coordinator, is brilliant. With all the events, the residents always have something to do. Debbie involves everyone. Thanks, Deb.

Absolutely amazing staff at the care home. The entertainment manager is doing a fab job organising events. So pleased to see my mam enjoying all the activities, and I like to get involved too. My 10yr old granddaughter, Gwen, loves to visit the home and loves all the residents. Great home.

Review of Abermill Care Home from Suzanne W (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 March 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

As always, my overall review is that the home is ran very well and the care the staff show the residents is amazing! My only concern is that sometimes my mum does not have her own clothes on. This is better now because I take my mum's clothes home to wash, and this is much better. The staff do an amazing job!

Review of Trafalgar Park Care Home from G M (Friend of Resident) published on 5 March 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Our first visit. On arriving at the care home we found car parking to be very good. The security was excellent on ringing bell to access wards door was opened in seconds, a member of staff asked who we wanted to see and we were shown to a nice area, while she brought the person we were visiting. Looking around we remarked how clean the home was and how friendly and helpful staff were we chatted to a therapist called Julie told us about activities that they arrange for them. She also showed us dining room which we were very impressed with. The resident we were visiting was quite ill on arrival we were very surprised to see how much she had improved in a short time. Our visit lasted an hour which was most enjoyable. In that time we noted how well the residents looked they were obviously well cared for the home and staff are a credit to you.

The staff are second to none, always empathetic, warm, and friendly. The care of the residents are uppermost as far as these girls and men are concerned. Always some form of entertainment for the residents and family members to attend. Never have any doubts that this care home is run with the utmost love and care. I, and my wife Elaine can sleep at night, knowing, my Mother-in-law, Eileen, is in the capable hands of this wonderful staff.
