I have had mixed experiences while my mum has been in the home. Some carers go above and beyond to ensure the well being of the residents where as others want to get job done or will take time to do anything. I have observed this treatment to others not just my mum. Overall its a nice home I feel that
there needs to be more staff so they can be less stressed and more attentive without getting in trouble.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Brandon House Care HomeThank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to make improvements where required. We appreciate your kind comments about our home and the dedication shown by many of our carers. We also take your concerns seriously and recognise the importance of consistency in care and adequate staffing levels. Your observations have been noted and will be reviewed by our management team as part of our ongoing commitment to improving the wellbeing and experience of all residents. My mother has been a resident in Herald Lodge for nearly six years due to dementia. Throughout her time there she has been treated with kindness, respect and compassion. The staff are outstanding in their caring, supportive attitude. The living areas are warm, modern and clean, and the catering is of

Friendly welcoming care home which cares for the residents as if they were family members. Lots of activities for the residents and all residents are clean, dressed appropriately and eat really well. The rooms are clean, spacious and inviting and the on site facilities are excellent. The team working
there are dedicated and I hope there will be a space for me when I need care.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum has been at Herald Lodge for nearly two years, the care she receives is excellent, ALL the staff are so friendly and caring and have taken their time to get to know Mum and her family and friends, it is like a home from home, nothing is too much trouble. The activities that are available are
brilliant, accessible to all residents and family and friends are welcome to join in and support their loved one and the home its self. The home is spotlessly clean and well looked after, with a good choice of meals and treats. I would recommend Herald Lodge in a heart beat.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Herald LodgeDear Laura,
We'd like to take a moment to thank you for leaving such a wonderful review of our home. It means so much to our colleagues when they receive this level of praise; they work tirelessly throughout the year to deliver the kindest possible care to residents and hearing such fantastic feedback is really the icing on the cake to them!

I have found the staff, from the excellent management team,to everyone else employed here,to be conscientious, caring, extremely pleasant and companionable, and diligent in all matters. The standards of room, cleanliness, and comfort are high, the food of good quality, and the environment safe and secure. Responsibilities
for the residents are taken very seriously,as one might expect, and personally I've experienced nothing but a full commitment to the well being of the residents by all employed here. The management select their staff exceptionally well (and most seem content to remain for years, testimony to how well run Dingle Meadow is).

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Having looked at a few care homes within this area, together with CQC inspection reports, it was decided between myself and brother that Dingle Meadow seemed a very friendly and homely care home you would want your relative to stay at.
Our dad has been a resident at Dingle Meadow since April 2025,
and is very happy and settled. From the moment dad moved, the staff were so welcoming, making him feel at home. Every member of staff are professional and deliver high standards of care. They are so supportive, caring and show empathy at sometimes very difficult times. They have entertainment in the day and evenings and encourage residents to get involved if they wish. I cannot thank the staff enough for what they do, I feel that dad is in very good hands and cared for.

I can highly recommend Dingle Meadow for anyone who is looking for a excellent care home.

The staff are great. My Dad can be challenging even before his dementia, but the team at Hodge Hill have been great in brining him out of his shell so he has some motivation to keep him bright, while still respecting his desire for his own company sometimes.
The activities are fun and engaging, but
have also helped Dad regain and maintain his motor control, control over his own body, and keep in healthy and happy (when he feels like being happy!)
He had long standing medical problems (a bad leg) which they have very successfully stabilised for the first time in years.
They also helped me through the difficult transition to the home, and help with the fact that it is very difficult for me to visit in person because of the distance and my own disability. They accomodate me and keep me in touch with Dad, who I miss a great deal.
The food is amazing high quality too. Always lovely fresh looking meals.

My Nan was in this care home for a small stay. The staff here treated her with dignity and respect, asking my Mom if they didn't know anything to make sure they gave Nan the best treatment. Nan was fed well, her clothes and bedding changed and looked after during her stay. I don't think we could have
asked for a better place for Nan to spend her final weeks. They showed us so much compassion in her final days and I could not thank them enough for this care.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband stayed at Victoria Mews for 9 days respite, and he thoroughly enjoyed his stay. All of the staff there were very friendly and helpful and he integrated well with the staff and residents.
When we went to view homes walking through the doors of this wonderful home was a feeling of warmth,
caring and a very welcoming place for all who worked and resided there.
Nothing is too much trouble and they go above an beyond to ensure the care and the needs of the patient is 100% + Excellent.
I felt very happy and comfortable to leave my husband in there care and on collecting him he did not want to leave, he loved it at the home, which meant so much to me as when you leave your beloved in someone else's care it is very hard as you think no one can care for your beloved more than you do, but they do.
Overall a very loving care home rum by the Management, Carers and all of the staff and I just want to say a big thank you from the bottom of my heart x :-)
