My uncle came into Balfarg in February 2025 until his passing in December 2025. We all experienced the most wonderful kindness from everyone. Whilst the rooms are a bit tired, the loving care and attention he received was second to none. The end of life care was exceptional
Thankyou to all in Balfarg.

Balfarg has provided my mum with excellent care for 3 years now. Balfarg was our only choice of home as I feel it provided a home from home atmosphere. We are always made to feel welcome from the fantastic staff and are encouraged to visit at any time of day. The management are not only informative
but are open to suggestion to provide the best possible care.

The home is always clean, welcoming and calm and the team goes above and beyond to make sure all residents feel comfortable and engaged. They keep us as a family regularly and are always happy to answer questions over mums needs. Her wellbeing whilst here is so positive. It is a huge relief knowing
she is safe, supported and surrounded by people who truly see her as a person and not just her dementia. I highly recommend The Beeches.

My wife has vascular dementia, I cared for her at home until August 25, when I suffered a heart attack and was unable to continue caring for her. My wife has been living at Chapel Level Nursing Care Home since September 25. I was impressed with the facilities and liked the fact there were no stairs,
my wife has chronic arthritis in both hips, so she has a wheel chair and walking aids. The staff at this facility are knowledgeable and caring. The food very good with a varied menu. Because of her lack of memory my wife took time to settle in, but staff were very patient with her. As I ask lots of questions and visit the home daily, the staff have been very patient with me.

Before moving to Chapel Level, my dad was poorly, gave up and came close to losing him. Since being there has made a massive impact on him for the better. He is more awake, alert, and interacts with people.
Can't thank all the staff enough for love and care giving to him, nice to see their effort
to improve all residents' quality of life, I really believe if wasn't for the move here we would have lost him now. Susan, also, I need to mention as a manager comes out of the office, takes time going round, speaks to resident. Family is also looked after and cared for too.

Came by to visit. I was surprised to see how clean and tidy the site and surroundings are. As I enter the front door, I could feel the warm and friendly welcome from the staff. The cleanliness and organized surroundings is pleasing to the eyes and gives a strong feeling of reassurance of a comfortable/safe

My mum moved into this care home as she has dementia and my dad is unable to care for her at home anymore. I cannot fault this care at all. The staff are absolutely superb. So attentive and understanding of people with dementia. It gives us as a family and my dad piece of mind that mum is getting well
cared for.
The rooms are well maintained , clean and enough storage. A list of activities in the cafe area to let you know what is going on.

Most of the staff are friendly. Meals very nice. They put on good shows for the elderly with nice singers. Rooms are nice and tidy. My mums hygiene is not been good at all since she got here, hair very greasy for 3 to 4 days which meant she wasn't getting showered or bathed. But had a word with staff
nurse and seems to be fine now. Made my mum appointment with foot chiropodist a month ago, and still not got seen to.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Chapel Level Care HomeThank you for taking the time to bring to our attention your areas of concerns around your Mother's personal care. I am pleased to hear that following discussion and agreed actions that you now feel there is an improvement in your Mother's grooming.I apologise for the delay in chiropody treatment due to our long serving chiropodist retiring, however, I am delighted that we have secured the services of another whom I anticipate will join the service shortly.

My father was in there for 10 days start of april. The whole place was smell of amonia an pee .told the the staff that he was unresponsive. The answer i got back was that he had just had a big meal and was napping. It took all of sunday in monday morning before he got took to hospital. He imediatelly
got diagnosed with pneumonia and passed 5 days later also after 5 days he was attacked and punched about the head. On saturday i went he was slumped to the side of chair. I would not recomend this care home.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Balfarg Care HomeDear Kevin, we would like to offer our condolences on the sad loss of your Father and reiterate our apologies for the distress experienced during his stay. We are always disappointed to hear of any negative experience as we strive to look after our residents with the kindest care and pride ourselves on the high standards delivered by the team in Balfarg. We will undertake a review of our housekeeping services in relation to any possible malodours. Thank you for taking the time to highlight and afford the team the opportunity to make improvements.

Our family are so relieved to have found such a caring place for Mum to stay. She moved there in early July and we have found the staff and care to be exceptional. They are all so welcoming and friendly, and already know Mum very well. The facilities are great, especially the cafe area and gardens which
we use regularly when visiting. The manager and her staff are truly amazing, their dementia care is exactly what it should be with kindness, patience and compassion.
