Review of Brompton House Care Home from Holly M (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Dad went to Brompton for palliative care. He had delirium and Alzheimer's and had spent 6 awful weeks in hospital. The staff at Brompton helped to make this a more manageable experience for Dad and the family, helping to facilitate visits and allowing my Mum to eat meals with Dad. Laundry, cleaning and catering services were excellent. The Manager was always ready to help with queries. Nursing and other care staff were kind and attentive.

Reply from Vlad Nastasa, Home Manager at Brompton House Care Home

Thank you for your review, Holly. We're pleased we could support your dad and family during such a difficult time. Your feedback about our team, hospitality, and care is greatly appreciated, and we will share your kind words with the staff. Best wishes to you and your family

Review of Foley Grange from Anne T (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 July 2026 Submitted via Website

My mother is at Foley Grange Care Home and it was her 100th birthday last Friday. Foley Grange arranged everything they had a sing along in the morning and a tea party for her in the afternoon for residents, family and mom's friends. The food was amazing, the lounge was decorated with balloons and it was the best birthday cake I have ever tasted. I am very grateful to all the staff at Foley Grange they made her day very special indeed.

An ideally placed purpose built building for delivering care to the elder.
Clean, fresh ,relaxed and friendly environment when you go through the door.

A lovely team of kind friendly staff that make the place feel like home. Plenty of communal or private space to enjoy visits with loved ones. Help yourself to drinks and cake just like you would visiting a relative in their own home. Garden, cinema room, cafe, bar all available to enjoy.

I recently had a very serious operation, and my husband is unable to walk because of a stroke 6 years ago. He is permanently in a wheelchair. We needed to be looked after, so we went to Foley Grange for 4 weeks. We were made to feel very welcome. We were looked after very well and met some very kind people. Michelle, the manager, was so good to us, and Beth showed us around. All the staff were so kind and helpful to us. The Grange is spotlessly clean at all times.

We have been visiting our aunt for the past 15 months. We can honestly say that she is very happy and loves all the staff and they all speak highly of her.Her care is paramount to us and any problems seem to be addressed extremely quickly and a few times she has been taken to hospital as a safeguard as she does suffer from chokes occasionally. They look after her very well.A lovely caring atmosphere exists in the home and there is always something going on for residents to enjoy.

Review of Foley Grange from Lizzie F (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 April 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum moved into Foley Grange during mid February 2026, initially on respite care/ trial period, due to her advancing dementia. My father and I had been considering specialist care for some months as this has been a life changing decision for all of us. From my very first telephone call with Beth, we have been welcomed and supported, with mum settling into the facilities and routines from day one. It is a huge step when caring for a loved one living with Alzheimer's, and we are still getting used to mum living away from the family home. Foley have been simply wonderful in how they have supported us as a family, and we still can't believe how smooth the whole process has been. Nothing is too much trouble, Michelle and all her team have been incredibly calm, kind and helpful in providing much needed reassurance and assistance when we visit and when we are checking in on mum by phone. The facilities are modern, purpose built, clean and calming which has made us confident in our choice.

I've just spent 3 months in Woodlands View recovering from an illness. I can say that they were superb. The care staff really looked after me, continuing to monitor my progress and the Chef provided meals of the highest quality and with good choice to suit most people ,and prepared to accommodate any special requests. Woodlands View provide many activities, and entertainment to keep you occupied also facilities like a hairdresser chiropodist. Thanks to Woodlands View I've made a good recovery and now back in my own home. Thanks Woodlands View

Review of Foley Grange from Valerie C (Respite Resident) published on 9 March 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
I had a lovely week's respite in Foley Grange. The staff were delightful. I gave a lower score to activities because there were not enough activities planned, and the activities just did not happen. I can understand why, as there was not enough enthusiasm from the residents.
The food and drink had a satisfactory score due to the poor communication bettween kitchen and dining room, the menus were not accurate.

But all in all, a very pleasant stay thanks to a team of kind, dedicated staff. Thank you.

Review of Woodland View from Clare T (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My Mum has been a resident at Woodland View for 2 years. From the moment she arrived she has been treated with kindness, care and respect. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and the home is kept spotlessly clean. In addition to this there is a varied programme of activities which is constantly changing to accommodate residents' wishes and needs. This is thanks to the amazing activities co-ordinator.
The management team are all very approachable and knowledgeable and respond quickly to any concerns or suggestions.

I would not hesitate to recommend this home if you are looking for a safe and comfortable place for your loved one.

Review of Woodland View from Dawn N (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
3.5 years ago I made the difficult decision to put my mum into care. She suffers from dementia and clearly wasn't managing by herself. Not only is it a difficult decision for the resident but for their families too. Fast forward 3.5 years and mum is thriving! She is healthy and happy, has made some lovely friends and constantly tells me that she is lucky to live there.
It is complete piece of mind for me knowing that mum is being looked after.
At Woodland a view they have such a variety things to do. There is a weekly planner which shows all activities including games, singers, guest speakers, crafts, gentlemen's club and exercises.
The care-home is kept absolutely spotless. It has excellent facilities including a library, hairdressers, cinema, gin bar and cafe. When you walk through the door it is like walking into a luxury hotel.
The staff are amazing! So caring and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

I am so glad that I choose Woodland view to look after my mum.

Review of Foley Grange from S M (Grandson of Resident) published on 23 January 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The home is always clean, and the staff are kind and welcoming. The only criticism I have is that the windows, when illness is present is not helpful for residents or visitors. Appreciate that there isn't much to be done with that, but maybe outside or garden visits could be arranged.

Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Foley Grange

During the recent outbreaks, we followed guidance from Public Health England (PHE), which allowed for one designated visitor. We acknowledge that families would have preferred window visits; however, residents were required to isolate to prevent the spread of infection, and as a result, we were...

I am the daughter of a resident, and I am so impressed by the care given to my dad. Meal times are made a real event with a nice setting of tables and good choices on the menu. My dad is given the freedom to help set up and clear away, which is very important to him. Everywhere is so clean with no smelly wee like other homes I have visited.

My father needed immediate respite care having suffered from the flu and a nasty chest infection. The care team accepted him with a level of assurance and personal care you would want for a family member. He has quickly recovered with all the tender loving care received from all the staff at Woodland VIew. He is happy and so are we as a family, knowing he is safe and cared for.
