Thorn Springs is a very special home. Firstly the care and attention given to residents is outstanding, the Managers and the amazing Care Team work so hard to ensure everyone is happy and well looked after. Thorn Springs has such a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. My husband and myself visit his Mum
regularly and we are so impressed with the level of first class care. My Mum in Law has settled in well and has made many lovely friends. It's joyous to hear the laughter and see the residents having fun and also just chilling together telling stories and sharing memories.
There is always something to do and the entertainments Team with the daily activities are great!
Thank you Thorn Springs for all you do and we highly recommend you!

My partner is currently a resident on a 28 day delirium pathway. He will be returning home. I cannot praise enough the support, care, compassion and complete friendliness of the team in Milliner unit. The staff are amazing, work tirelessly to ensure the residents needs are met. It really feels like
a family. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the lounge is always full of people relaxing and socialising. We as a family have been welcomed and completely informed and looked after when visiting. Thank you all for everything

My mother came into Thorn Springs for respite care after a fall in November for a month. We had looked around a few homes to see which would be suitable for someone who is very independent and sociable. Thorn Springs was perfect as it is very welcoming and homely with lots of activities everyday. There
are a lovely group of ladies who mum made good friends with and is now a permanent resident, as physically she couldn't cope at her own home. The carers are all kind and friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. My mums mental health has vastly improved since moving in as she has something to do everyday, if she wants to. A gp comes in every week, aswell as a chiropadist/ optician and hairdresser.
I would recommend Thorn Springs in a second as it has help improve everyone's life balance making life a lot easier and happier for everyone.

My wife has Alzheimers' and became a permanent resident at Thorn Springs last year. It was a very difficult decision to place her in a care home, but I am so pleased that I chose Thorn Springs.
The environment of the home is superb, it is spacious and well equipped. The rooms and the communal areas
are very comfortable. The food is good too. There is excellent planning of regular activities, including visits outside the home.
Above all the staff are fantastic - I cannot praise them enough. They are caring and supportive, both for residents and for families. Supporting someone with Alzheimers' can be very challenging, but my wife has always been cared for respectfully and kindly. Their concern has been to understand my wife, her difficulties, and how best to care for her.
I am a regular visitor, and I have seen that over the time she has been at the home, my wife has become settled and content. This is entirely down to the support the carers have given

My mother has called Thorn Springs home for over 2 years now and in all that time we have been very impressed with the level of support and care she has received.
The team of staff involved in running the home are always friendly when I pop in and are familiar with how my mother has been. More importantly,
my mother says the staff are lovely and very kind which our family very much appreciate.

My Mum moved to Thorn Springs just over a year ago, a somewhat difficult decision as she had lived in her home for over 60 years. However, there has not been a single day when we have regretted choosing Thorn Springs. The home is modern, well-equipped and clean and the staff deliver excellent care
on a daily basis, despite the obvious pressures of their roles. Mum has always been treated with kindness and respect and staff have taken the trouble to get to know her, and us as her family. I have always been greeted warmly when visiting.
The management team is strong and really dedicated to caring about residents' welfare, which is reflected throughout all levels of staff. They are always open to suggestions for improvements, for example, we have seen a vast improvement in the quality of the meals after the opinions of all stakeholders groups were sought.
There is also a wide variety of activities on offer, although these are by no means compulsory. Thank you for all you do

It has now been a week since my Mum in law moved into her care home, and we just wanted to say how grateful we are for the kindness and care she has received.
The staff have been so welcoming, patient and supportive, not only to my mum in law but to all of our family as well. Moving into care is
a big change, but they have made the transition much easier than we could have hoped for.
My mum in law is settling in well, and it's reassuring to know she is being looked after with such compassion and dignity. Thank you to everyone there for the wonderful work you do every day - it really does mean a lot to families like ours.

Our mother moved into Blakelands Lodge Care Home at the end of February. The brochure and staff describe it as a lifestyle home our mother calls it home. Visiting her over the weekend she remarked the staff are so kind and if I need anything I just push the bell.
The home is simply elegant and gorgeous,
the staff team are wonderful, I have witnessed displays of compassion and kindness also humour and laughter. The management lead by example and are often assisting residents not hidden away. Mums enjoyed a range of activities and shows.

We couldn't be more grateful for the support, level of service and care we have received from Blakelands. We first got in touch in about May 2025 when it became apparent that Mum might need to transition to a care home. We were instantly impressed and reassured that Blakelands would be the perfect environment
for Mum and 'partner' for us to ensure she was cared for in a modern, well-equipped, safe, clean, friendly and professional environment. Mum moved in in July 2025 and Blakelands have exceeded our high expectations. My brother and I immediately benefited from clear, available and reliable two way communications regarding Mum's health and transition to her new environment. We have benefited from the team's friendly support to us as well as Mum. We are extremely happy in the knowledge that Mum is very well supported by a well trained and kind caring team. There is a comprehensive range of activities and services on hand. I have no reservation in highly recommending the whole team.

Mum has been resident at Blakelands since it became clear it was no longer safe for her to stay at home on her own. All the staff at Blakelands have been wonderful - caring, helpful and endlessly patient. Hayley and Emilia were particularly helpful during the admissions process and for the first few
stressful months as we were all getting used to Mum moving from being self sufficient to being cared for.
Blakelands is a lovely home; modern, bright and very well maintained. The caring staff are so supportive and imaginative with their care. Mum has different activities to keep her ammused and entertained every day and even, when the weather permits, the chance to visit the local park and shops under safe supervision.
Blakelands was recommended to us by a friend with detailed knowledge of care homes in the area and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it to others. It has to be a personal choice in the end, but Blakelands is absolutely well worth consideration.

I visited many carehomes on behalf of my Dad, who has dementia, as he was no longer safe alone at his house. As he was initially reluctant to go into care, I really needed to make the right decision for him. As soon as I entered Blakelands Lodge I was made to feel very welcome and knew that my Dad would
love the bright, airy and spacious rooms and the lovely friendly and genuinely caring staff. He initially stayed for 4 weeks respite care, after which he decided to stay permanently. I'm so pleased that he made this decision as he now feels at home here, no longer lonely at home alone and being looked after with such kindness, care and attention. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and they really welcome family and friends when visiting. In my opinion, Blakelands Lodge stands out from all the others I visited due to the staff being genuinely happy and caring in their roles, which reflects in the happy residents! A huge Thank You to everyone.

Our 91 year old mum has been living at Thorn Springs Care Home for the past two years. The staff treat mum with genuine warmth, kindness, patience, dignity, and respect. It is clear the staff see mum as an individual with her own personality and needs.
Communication with us as a family has always been
open and approachable. We are kept informed, involved in decisions and never feel hesitant to ask questions.
The home itself is modern, well maintained and thoughtfully designed. The facilities are bright and up to date, creating a positive atmosphere that supports mum's wellbeing.
The overall atmosphere at Thorn Springs is calm, friendly, and re-assuring. Mum appears settled, respected and at ease. There is a genuine sense of warmth throughout the home.
After two years, we as a family feel grateful for the care and kindness shown to Mum. Thorn Springs has made a meaningful difference to mum's quality of life.
