The longer my mum is in Hambleton Grange, the more grateful I am for the care she is receiving. The home is warm, clean, tidy and generally a happy place to be. The majority of the carers are professional and knowledgeable. Understandably, I have encountered a couple I am less enamoured with, but that
doesn't mean they don't carry out their work with care. just not as friendly as others.

Since moving into Handley House in mid-December my father's health and wellbeing has improved considerably.
He arrived with little mobility and barely able to articulate. He had lost all confidence.
He now walks the full corridor at least 3 times each day for meals etc, can hold a conversation, his
recall has hugely improved and he feels confident enough to join in activities.
This is all due to the great social environment and help offered by the staff at Handley House who are always so welcoming and positive and do everything with a smile.

I have been here now 6 months and am settled. I love the food and find the staff to be very kind and helpful. I do wish that they would get me up earlier on a morning, 10 am is a bit late.

Ebor Court care home is a lovely, welcoming and friendly place which has changed my perception on care homes in general, for the better.
Thank you to the staff there for caring for my Granny in her final days. Sadly she didn't get to have much time at Ebor, but for the short time she was there she
was kept comfortable and clean and received excellent levels of care. As a family we couldn't have hoped for a better place for granny to spend her last few days.

We were impressed by Ebor Court from our first visit. The atmosphere was friendly, the residents seemed very contented and the whole place was clean and bright.
Once mum moved in everyone knew our names and who we had come to see. She was treated with wonderful kindness and respect. She absolutely
loved the food. Every member of staff is above and beyond and so very caring.
Nothing was ever too much trouble. I'm so pleased we chose Ebor Court for our mum. It came as a recommendation from someone who was already there. And I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to other people. Actually I'm already doing that!

I felt like mum was really important and genuinely cared about. The place was clean and bright with a really good atmosphere.
I can't speak highly enough
of the whole set up. Everyone knew who you were and who you were visiting. I was so pleased we chose Ebor court for our mum, we had had it recommended to us by several people, no one had a bad word to say .

The family arranged a small gathering to celebrate my Aunt's 90th Birthday. I would personally like to thank the staff for all their help on the day. They, provided the table and chairs (6 place settings) set the table complete with table cloth and provided tea, coffee and a jug of water. This certainly
provided a lovely environment to celebrate a milestone birthday. Lunch consisted of fish and chips from the local chippie with birthday cake in the afternoon. Our Aunt really enjoyed it and was smiling all day, we created some lovely memories. Thank you.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Handley HouseDear David, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. This is my first visit, so my view will not be comprehensive. The place is warm with friendly, helpful staff, and there's plenty happening to occupy residents. It's also very well maintained.

Mum moved into Ebor Court following the traumatic loss of her husband. She was low and withdrawn; her motivation and mobility were particularly affected. Since arriving, she has improved no end, being more positive and willing to participate in activities and exploring new areas of interest. Her mobility
has improved too, and this has meant greater independence to her. This is down to the quality of staff, who have taken the time to listen, to get to know mum and understand what would help her lead a more fulfilled life. They are proactive in doing this, and their approachable, sincere, professional and genuinely caring attitude is a credit to the caring profession. My perception of care homes has been transformed as much as my mum's life in Ebor Court. The organisation, facilities and most importantly, staff are all working to a high standard to achieve this.

On arrival at Mossdale care home they entry was secure entrance was immediate. The reception is always spotlessly clean, smiling staff greet you in a warm area. Visiting my mother-in-law in her spacious room is like walking into her old house with everything she requires. The meals are plentiful, helpful
staff are available, plenty of activities and an overall feeling of warmth, security and patient care.
We could of not found a better home for her.

I have visited people in a good many care homes but think Hambleton Grange is one where I would be happy to live myself. Though it must be hard to lose one's independence, it still seems possible to lead a full life here. Hambleton Grange offers a wide range of activities and events including some that
friends and relatives can also take part in. There are talks, films, craft sessions and entertainments. Although there is a television, it isn't obtrusive, as in some times where the residents get very little choice of viewing.
The person who has power of attorney for our friend has a long way to travel, but the staff keep in touch by phone and always remember who she is. In spite of having restricted mobility, our friend is able to go out in the new minibus and enjoys these excursions.
Everyone seems to get a special cake on their birthday and the one we shared was delicious.
Inevitably, there must be daily routines which the public don't always see, but my impression is that the residents are treated as individuals and with kindness and respect.
I haven't ticked some categories, because I simply don't know enough about them.
