Valentines lunch was wonderful, delicious food, fab decor, service. They are great at including family in everything they arrange. During the day I am so impressed with everything from front of house/office staff, care staff, kitchen staff, cleaning staff and definitely the activities coordinator, everyone
is so lovely and friendly. My concern is care on nights, dad is ringing out on the wall phone up to 10pm, later in obvious distress. Why is no one seeing him doing this and stopping him? Personal hygiene is not good, he needs prompting to shower and wear clean clothes every day. The day staff help with this why are the night staff not telling him. He gets up early while they're still on shift. Plus he is obvs not cleaning his teeth, the same tubes of paste have been there since May 25!

Lydgate was recommended to us for our mum after her Alzheimer's and vascular dementia diagnosis.
We had become increasingly worried about mums safety in her own home. After several hospital stays primarily due to falls we made the difficult decision to move mum to residential care.
From our first
visit in July 2025 to mum's peaceful passing in February this year we have felt confident and reassured by the care given to mum at Lydgate.
The team are supportive, caring and expert in dementia care. They have endless patience and kindness, treating residents as individuals with unique needs ( important with dementia patients).
Mum was much loved by the team, they kept her safe and well and accommodated her needs and quirks very well.
If we had feedback or concerns they were met positively and responded to.
We are hugely grateful to Lydgate for their care of mum and would wholeheartedly recommend them to others
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Lydgate LodgeDear Julie,
Wed like to take a moment to thank you for leaving such a lovely review of our home. Putting someone into a home is so traumatic both Norman and I were treated with compassion and great care. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Norman spent 3 years in Snapethorpe and certain staff members treated him as family when he lost his ability to speak or move unaided he was treated
with respect and dignity. His end of life care was amazing. He wasn't left to die he was made as comfortable as it was possible to be. First class care and staff who walk the extra mile.

A caring environment with friendly, efficient staff within a facility that projects an assurance of quality.
My friend is content and comfortable in her surroundings, which is both pleading and reassuring. Costs appear high in nature, but programe is in line with national guidelines and standards.
Overall, a nice place to be looked after.

My Mum has moved to Augustus Court after a stay in hospital. Mum has settled very quickly and enjoying a new lease of life.
We all find the staff friendly and approachable.
The rooms, both individual and shared areas, are always clean and well maintained. The bedrooms are a good size with lovely
furniture, plenty of storage space and a mini drinks fridge.
There's a general welcoming homely feel with a lovely coffee room for visitors to enjoy refreshments and a chat in a comfortable environment a good alternative to sitting in the bedroom area.
There are well planned organised activities happening most days which residents are encouraged to join in but with no pressure.
The weekly visiting hairdresser is very good and there is a chiropodist visits regularly too.
Highly recommended

All Round 10/10!!!
Would just like to say a MASSIVE thanks to ALL the team from The Denby at Denby Dale (all levels of the care team/management/administration/entertainment/chefs/laundry/cleaning etc etc etc and this also includes the Finance Dept. at Head office.
My recently deceased mum had been a
resident for 3 1/2 Years - 3 1/2 Years of extended enhanced life!
We "shopped around" June/July 2022 for a suitable establishment.
In our opinion The Denby was ideal and we are so pleased we went with that choice, especially when comparing notes with friends whose family are in other homes.
Despite the challenges of the profession we found the staff to be:
Professional
Approachable
Compassionate
Consistent
Caring
Encouraging
Stimulating
Friendly
Its impressive that they have a numerous range of differing activities to engage and actively participate residents, especially the scope of inhouse entertainment and off site trips, which mum "loved.
Would Highly Recommend When Seeking A Care Home.

From our first visit I was truly blown away Hepworth House is out of this world definitely a 5* care home. We decided as a family that it was the perfect place for my Dad to move into. He moved in December and quickly settled. Everytime we visit he's got a smile on his face which is so reassuring to
us. Everything is to the highest of standards, the staff from front of house to carers are fantastic, anything you ask them is never no trouble. I would recommend Hepworth House to anyone who is in the same position we were in the end of last year.

Since Christmas I feel that the care given by the staff has deteriorated. My mother is much more settled and happier when certain (regular) staff are working than staff we don't see as often. I haven't seen any interaction between staff and residents since Christmas. I know I'm not there all the time
but I visit my mother regularly . The regular staff my mother reacts with a smile whereas I've noticed the ones she's not used to she may shout and swear at them

when mum first arrived she was very confused but soon settled in with care and support from the staff team, who listened to our concerns about how much mum's care had changed since August when she was fully independent.
Every member of staff when have ancountered is friendly, cheerful, respectful and
kind. We were worried about mum going into care but the care we have received as a family not just mum has been better than we could have hoped.
Mum can no longer vocalise but we can see by her body language she is relaxed and calm which is a great support.
I am kept aware of any changes in mums health and I feel very confident of the care given to mum is the best she could have as she reaches the end of her life journey.
Words cannot express how thankful we are to your fantastic team. I'm not good at this sort of thing but hope you understand how knowing mum is being looked after by such a great team helps us cope with the changes mum is going through.
Thank you all xx
