My mum recently died at the age of 92 years, during her final 18 months she lived in Garforth House, Colton Lodges where she was very happy. Caroline and all the staff were brilliant with mum, pandering to her care needs and mental wellbeing. I cannot thank them all enough for enhancing mum's life and
giving her quality time in addition the care and consideration given to us all on mum's death by all concerned was of the highest order. Thanks to all.

Snapethorpe Hall Care Home

Mum has been in Snapethorpe since July, initially as respite then continued. We chose this care home due to the homely feel, and the ease of navigation round the home which we felt mum could cope with independently.
This has continued to be the case, it is indeed homely, with friendly staff, and mum
can find her way round. Any issues we have raised have been actioned, so I have confidence that this would continue to be the case. All in all this has been a positive experience so far!

My sister and I visited a number of care homes before deciding on Snapethorpe Hall for my mum who has dementia. We were initially looking for a home for a period of respite care whilst we went on holiday, but also with a view to potentially permanent care. That was back in July 2025, and mum has since
become a permanent resident.
From the moment we first stepped into the home it felt right for mum and each time we go in there it still feels the same, which is testament to the friendly staff that work in there. It feels very homely; there are lots of activities going on from singing, crafting, sports afternoon, coffee mornings to organised trips out too. Mum loves to get involved in most of the activities and she has made friends with other residents. The staff are very caring, compassionate, visible, engaging and they look after mums needs very well, and we know that she is safe.

My father initially went for rest bite care, hornet wasn't able to go home.
I will struggle to put into wires how I feel but will try.
The home is outstanding, the love and care r staff gave our father was simply beautiful. The care, love, respect and attention they gave him was stunning. When our
father deteriorated and was close to the again stunning, they couldn't do enough for us, bringing us drinks, food, love and answering all our questions amazing, they were all genuinely upset when he passed. Don't look any further because I would never have hesitate to recommend this home they a credit to their profession.
Love to them all

It's always clean and the lounge is welcoming. It's always daunting leaving a loved one behind but a least I know he is safe and happy.

When i came up from Plymouth to visit my aunt , Freda, she was sat in the lounge .It was very light and welcoming in there .
The staff were serving tea and cake to the residents ,and interacting with each one .It was done in a very friendly ,but profesional way .
I dont get up to see Freda as often
asI would like ,but if anything happens to Freda ,or she does something I need to know ,I get a phone call from the home to keep me informed .
I am very happy with the care Freda has ,and I know lately ,she has had a few issues with other residents ( such a shame ,as it is so out of character ) but the staff have dealt with it in a caring way ,and hopefully ,she will settle down again ,and be the lovely kind Aunt I remember .
Many Thanks to all the staff .

My mum was always vehemently against going into residential care but she really enjoys being a resident at Rievaulx House. The staff are always attentive, patient and considerate to my mum's needs. She has plenty of opportunities for interaction with either the staff or other residents. Her room is
always clean, the food options are varied and her clothing cleaned regularly.
Any issues regarding my mum's health are dealt with efficiently and quickly.
The building itself appears to be well maintained and secure.
From my personal perspective I find the care staff to be amazing. Always happy to stop and have a chat and also take care of any additional requests where possible. Special shout out to Evans who is very knowledgeable and approachable.

Mum initially came to Snapethorpe for respite but due to her needs became a resident, we had no hesitation in this decision as the place has a lovely feel about it and it was our first choice of care for mum. The staff are lovely and always available for a chat and to provide for mum. The room was
lovely and the cleaning immaculate. Mum sadly wasn't there long enough to enjoy all the activities, but her time there put me and my sister's mind at rest. When she died the staff were so kind and supportive. I would highly recommend Snapethorpe care home.

My mum moved into Colton Lodge in Jan 2024, it took her a long time to settle, but she has thanks to the most wonderful team of staff who care for her needs, both her and our dementia journey has been easier. The personal experience they create for every dementia patient is excellent and I couldn't

The atmosphere & general provision of activities for residents has improved massively since the current well being team started early this year. I am absolutely amazed by their energy & dedication. They have initiated innumerable new activities and actively encourage residents to participate where appropriate.
Each and every resident is known and respected by them resulting in a friendly and caring home with much improved spontaneous interaction. The residents clearly appreciate this. I feel the ladies on wellbeing see their roles as a vocation not merely a job.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
It was a very hard decision to admit that, I could no longer care for my husband who has Alzheimer's and he needed to move into a care home. He is being well cared for and the staff are lovely to him. He is not one to join in activities but he has formed a connection with a couple of the staff that
share the same interests as him. This care home was recommended to me by a family member whose relative has been there for a few years. I would not hesitate to refer others to this home.
