My mum has been a resident of Ailsa Craig Care Home for 6 years. She started in Bute House and then moved to Millport House( dementia unit). I have been very happy with the way my mum has been treated in the Home. The staff treat her with dignity and care. Staff are friendly. The activity staff organise
events and organised video calls for me when I was out the country allowing me to keep in touch with my mum.

Both my parents are residents. We are very pleased with the care they are given. The activities and involvement. The staff give is respectful and dignified. Any issues raised are dealt with quickly, and we are always given feedback on their welfare and health/ The staff work extremely hard to make the
home experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Ailsa Craig has been truly exceptional, and we will always be grateful for the love, kindness, and outstanding care they gave our mum, especially in her final chapter.
From the moment she arrived, the staff made her feel completely at home. They treated her with dignity, warmth, and genuine compassion,
not just as a resident but as a person who mattered. That meant more to us as a family than words can say.
The kindness, patience, and compassion shown by every member of staff is second to none. They don't just care for residents - they genuinely care about them, and it shows in everything they do
There were always regular activities, and my mum particularly enjoyed the pamper sessions and having her hair done regularly by the hairdresser - those little touches helped her feel like herself and brought her real comfort and happiness.
During an incredibly difficult time for our family, the support and care shown by the staff was unwavering, thank you from Donna and Lynne

My aunt was admitted to Greenfield Park in October of this year after spending one year in hospital. The care she's been given at the home is 100% better than the care she received in hospital. The staff are so caring, from the girls at the reception desk to the handyman. Everyone works together to
make things good for the residents. My aunt has settled in well and I'm so grateful that she is content with her life in Greenfield Park.

The resident has been here over 2 months. It would be much safer and practical if the toilets in the room had a sink in them. It causes safety issues for this particular resident. Otherwise, the room is fine. Staff are approachable, friendly and happy to discuss concerns etc. There are activities organised
regularly.

Darnley Court Care Home

Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5
Our experience with Darnley Court was mixed.
The carers were attentive and compassionate and they treated our mum with genuine care and respect. For that we are truly grateful.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the two staff members in the front office. They noticeably lacked in basic social
skills, were disorganised with no communication or empathy when my mother passed. They were rude to our mother's visitors with a condescending manner. They were unable to answer any questions, mostly deflected to the carers which was extremely frustrating and made us feel unwelcome.
We paid a lot of money for our mother's care and the front of house office staff should be treating customers and visitors with a warmer welcome. This continued throughout my mother's care until her death. There is an attitude of "can't be bothered".
The food was poor quality and at times didn't appear to be freshly prepared, lacked flavour and fell well below what you would expect in a care home environment.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Darnley Court Care HomeThank you for your feedback. We did not receive the standard of car that we expected from this care home. Raised concerns which were ignored resulting in my gran being hospitalised for 5 weeks and still currently in hospital. We raised a complaint and were told we would hear back which we are still awaiting word back from nearly
5 weeks later. We have been told it has now been passed to regional managers.

My friend needs assistance to dress/toilet/feed herself. Furthermore, she currently has a broken arm in plaster, which means she is even more incapacitated. There was no staff available to assist her at lunch time, as the 3 staff members in the dining room were helping other patients. My friend's room
was dirty, it needed swept, cleaned and polished. There was a half-empty cup with coffee at least a day old sitting on the table. A staff member was shouting at a patient, tell him to stop shouting!

Overall, the home has improved recently. I am happy with the care that mum receives, the staff are welcoming, and you feel that you can approach management to discuss any concerns, and they are always available and make time to speak to me.
My mum does like her own company, and I would like her to
be involved more in the activities that are happening. She likes interacting with staff and other residents, and she enjoys the visit from the alpaca.

My mother, who has dementia has been in Quayside since December 2024 initially as a placement and then permanent from April 2025. On the many times I have visited at random times I can only praise all staff that I have spoken to and seen attending others in Jupiter house on how attentive they are with
all residents. I have attended when there is some form of entertainment or activity on the go and all staff get involved when possible ensuring everyone is included. If there has been an incident or concern then I have been made aware at that time. This was the right choice for my mother's needs. Can't thank all members of staff enough.
