Having viewed many care homes, I knew as soon as I walked in unannounced into Holmwood, that this would be the home that was for my dad. The home is well-kept, resourced and furnished well and always smells nice. All staff are welcoming, polite and friendly in all departments, nursing care and ancillary.
On occasions, my dad struggled to settle into a new environment. The staff have gone over and above to make him feel at home and support the wider family, which we are extremely grateful for. Thank you to all. We look forward to a long and happy relationship with you all.

We initially contacted Swallownest care home in May 2025 regarding respite care with a view to hopefully encouraging mum to move in on a permanent basis.. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and despite her initial reservations mum soon acknowledged that it would be a good idea to stay. The care
that mum received was excellent, we were welcomed to visit whenever we wanted. The team all work really hard to provide a great service and quickly became an extended family to mum . She enjoyed taking part in some of the activities organised by Dawn and Tracey from the wellbeing team but even when she chose to remain in her room staff constantly checked in to say hello. The catering staff worked really hard to accommodate mums changing dietary needs.Sadly mums health deteriorated and she required end of life care . It was so comforting that she was surrounded by people that she knew . Our only regret is that she didn't have more time there as her quality of life was improved so much

The care and support that Silverwood have given to my mother has been of the highest quality. From the first time we made contact with the home they have listened to her requirements and delivered a first class service. On the top of this they have also ensured that we were listened to and made us very
welcome. All the staff are very approachable and display a remarkable propensity to treat everyone as an individual. The attitude and humour of the staff has made visits enjoyable.


I have no hesitation in recommending Silverwood to anyone considering using their services.

All the staff were very helpful, caring and supportive especially on the day my mum died. The home manager was also excellent on a particularly bad day i was having when I visited. The night staff were excellent too.

My 101 year old mother has been in several care homes over the last couple of years and Swallownest is the best by far. The atmosphere there is warm and friendly and this is obvious as soon as you walk through the door. The staff interact with the residents and their families and treat them with warmth
and respect. It is obvious that they enjoy their caring roles. There are frequent activities held in the large, sunny lounge and the residents are encouraged to join in. The home and grounds are clean and well maintained. I would have no hesitation in recommending Swallownest Care Home to anyone looking for a well run, caring 'home from home' for their loved ones.

My Sister and I choose Ascot Lodge to provide care for my mother in September 2025. She was suffering with the final stages of Dementia / Alzheimer's and we knew that Ascot Lodge specialised in this type of care. All the dealings we had with HC-One (parent company) and the home itself were excellent
and very professional.


Although my mothers time at the home was short (Sept 25 - end Jan 26) we never had any problems and all the staff were professional and, most importantly, caring and considerate to my mother at all times. We visited my mother regularly and also found that the staff were welcoming to us and nothing was too much trouble for them.

I would certainly recommend this home to others thinking of putting their love ones into care. You can be certain that the staff at Ascot Lodge will always do everything they can for their residents.

Swallownest Care Home go above and beyond to care and look after my grandma. It's not just a home of care its a "home". During December there has been the most amazing activities for the festive season and the residents have had a brilliant time. Thank you to all the staff but a big shout out to Tracey
and Dawn- activities and wellbeing for giving the residents a lovely Christmas time.

The staff attempt to do their upmost to help in every area. The choice of food is good and variable. Activities great and everyone is welcome to attend. Facilities are constantly looked at and upgraded, this includes a new bathroom with bath and chair lift which will make a massive improvement to new
residents, some who have not been able to have a bath for years. Management are excellent in all aspects. Great [lace to be a resident.

I came to visit a friend and all the staff are lovely. The lounge facilities are decorated festive. My friend is very happy and its the best she looked for a long time with hair done and nails. The care home is very welcoming and I would be happy to stay here if ever needed.

As a family we are so glad we chose Silverwood Care Home for our mums care. Suffering from dementia she required expert care and understanding. While she was there, she formed bonds with staff and residents and enjoyed days out and activities. The food was excellent and she put on quite a bit of weight
while she was there. The care was exemplary and the staff understanding and empathetic. They cared for mum with such dignity towards the end of her life and we are so grateful to them.

Dad was only in Holmwood for 8 weeks before he passed. The staff , especially the nurses were exceptional with my Dad.
It's a lovely place and everyone was friendly, kind and smiling on our visits.
Dad said they would do anything for him.
The Food all home cooked & he especially loved full breakfast.
Cleaners
on site every day & also chatted with Dad.
Always plenty of staff.

Swallownest Care Home is one of the nicest places, during my time visiting my lovely friend, they made me so very welcome and made me part of the team. They supported me through some tough times and were there to enjoy the good times too. The care my friend got was incredible and not just from carers
from everyone. The team there are brilliant. Dawn and Tracy are absolutely brilliant at their job as activity co-ordinators and i am very pleased to be able to call them friends, the same goes for many other staff, too many to list. Since the loss of my friend I am still welcome to pop in for a cuppa and participate in social events. Anyone thinking of using Swallownest Care Home for their loved one should do so without question !

Mum has Alzheimer's and had been considering moving into a care home. I was due to go on holiday when mum deteriorated quickly, and we needed respite. The whole team at Silverwood have been amazing. The room was available. She was moved in quickly. On moving day, all the staff were amazing, making a
very stressful day much better. Mum is well looked after by everyone, the care and compassion has been amazing. Silverwood is clean, and what I like most is the laughter I hear from the staff and residents. Thank you.

Excellent friendly run nursing home, with a homely feel. Staff are very attentive to residents needs, and can't do enough to help them feel at home always going the extra mile to help. Meal times are well enjoyed by all residents with multiple food options available all prepared and cooked on site by
the homes chef. So pleased to have found a forever home for Mum after her illness, this makes it so much easier for me leaving her, knowing she is getting the best care.

The moment I stepped in here, I knew it was different to the others. The decor is lovely and very homely.
All staff always have a smile and a giggle with my dad.
I can't actually find any fault with this place. May seem a quick review after a short while, but after being in a few others, I just knew.

lady has been epic at helping me fill all the forms in.
After visiting for only a week, I feel like part of the furniture and my mental health has improved knowing and feeling he is safe and looked after.
My dad is a joker and he has met his match with the staff haha. They are ace xx

Mum was welcomed by warm friendly staff upon her arrival. She settled in very quickly and well little teething problems were dealt with straight away. Mum made friends and took up knitting again! She had some fabulous afternoons with the wellbeing ladies. Food! Plenty of it and all good! Plenty of choices
and drinks. It was so helpful to myself as I know someone was around day and through the night to see to her needs. Weekly doctor visit a fantastic help. We both had a well deserved rest. Thank you.
