From the first meeting at reception we were welcomed with such kindness. My mum stayed here for a few months after a short hospital stay. The care my mum received was outstanding. Nothing was too much and the lovely staff were always happy to answer any questions we had. I am forever grateful for the

Excellent! My mam has settled in really well here, all the staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. Visiting hours are flexible, even though I do visit around dinner time. The residents all seem to get along despite all the challenges around dementia. Both my sister and I are more relaxed knowing
that mam is happy and safe. My rating of 'satisfactory' regarding value for money reflects that £1800 plus is obscene. Not a reflection of Winters Park in general.

I come regularly to see a friend. The garden lawns etc are in a very good condition and there is no litter. The staff are always pleasant. My friend is well looked after.

I felt nervous about my mum going to live at a care home but when we found Summerhill and looked around, we knew it was the right place. She is on Buttermere and all the staff have all been wonderful, treating my mum with the utmost care and maintaining her dignity. The food is excellent and the wellbeing
team organise lots of meaningful activities. The two ladies on reception are really friendly and helpful and provide a welcome environment from the minute you enter.

The staff in the dementia care are absolutely amazing. My father's cognition has declined as the dementia gets worse and I am so grateful that the team are so caring and mindful of all his needs. The seniors work so hard to ensure the residents are treated with patience, kindness and time. The whole
team of staff (carers, catering, activities, housekeeping, maintenance and management) care about every individual (however cranky and troubled they can be) and know every resident by name. I can relax and enjoy my time with dad, knowing that he is in very safe hands

Elsie needed to come in for respite. We were struggling, but wow what a great home and staff. Elsie has just turned 100 years and the home went above and beyond. Doing a cake, food etc for the family (so Nana could enjoy). The staff are so very kind and work very hard. Always there to help with a smile.
One lady has been so amazing, we went with this home because she was so nice and knowledgable on Nanas needs.

My father moved into Cold Springs about 4 months now, but we had no concerns about him going in as my mother had a previous resident and we were well aware that it is safe and welcoming place for him to be. Yje staff are extremely friendly and professional and he has settled in very quickly.

Mam came into Winters Park on the 16th July 2025 and since then she has been very happy. The staff are absolutely brilliant with her and go above and beyond for her. After I have visited her I can go home and not worry about her. Mam is a completely different person to when she was in hospital and its

I visited mum twice this week, and each time I come through the front door, I am greeted with friendliness and warmth. Mum is usually sitting in the lounge watching TV or dozing in her chair. She is comfortable and warm, and there is usually plenty going on to keep her engaged with her surroundings.
The carer has just handed us a cup of tea and pink wafer biscuits - lovely! All the staff are kind and interested in the mum's life and family. She is settling down, even though it's taken a little while with our sad circumstances, I am happy that Mum is safe and well cared for. Thank you.

Have been visiting my friend ever since she went to live there. The staff are very friendly and caring. My friend is very happy there and looks much better due to the staff and regular meal times which she enjoys. If the time comes when I can't look after myself I would be happy to live at Cold Springs
in Penrith providing there was a vacancy.

I think it is fair to say that were it not for the care, support and love which I have received during my eight month stay at Summerhill is is unlikely that I would be alive today to write this. I am lost for superlatives to describe everything at Summerhill but the words superb and brilliant come readily
to mind. I arrived at Summerhill very ill and leave with fond memories of my time there and with many new friends. I shall keep in touch and visit often.

I have been visiting a family friend who is a resident in Cold Springs Park for about 2 years, and I have consistently found his care there to be exceptionally good. He is happy there and feels safe and comfortable. The carers are always happy to do their very best to meet his needs. The staff in charge
of care are always accessible and happy to discuss how things are going when we visit. The manager and administrative personnel are also visible and helpful, and so easy to approach.

Our mum moved into Winters Park in October 2024, she has dementia, we lost dad and the house that they lived in and we took on their dogs so there was a lot of change within a few weeks. Her moving to the home was absolutely the best thing for her (and us) it took a few difficult weeks but she is now
very settled and more engaged than we have seen for a long time and joins in with all the activities her mind may be deteriorating but she is physically quite fit.
