Mum stayed at Ivy Grove for a month on respite care. From the start, the team were responsive and understanding to my enquiry as the daughter. I was impressed how the staff always talked to mum for her views and listened to how she saw her needs.
During her stay mum reported the staff were attentive
and kind. There were lots of activities to keep her busy ! Her room was very nice and she had a super welcome with flowers and other treats. The food was plentiful and a very good standard. Overall the staff were responsive to mums needs, she felt safe and cared for. The home felt well led by senior staff and we were very pleased with her stay.

I am very happy that my mother is here. The staff are attentive, professional and friendly. They do everything they can to support and look after residents. My mother's health has improved enormously since she has been here because she is well looked after by the carers and the nursing staff.
There
is a full programme of entertainment and activities throughout the year which the residents can choose to participate in if they so wish. Visitors are also welcomed to some of the events to enjoy them alongside the residents.
The communal facilities are well appointed with a coffee room, garden area ( both of which guests have access to) dining room and hair salon. My mother particularly enjoys her weekly visits to the hair salon.
There is no restriction on when guests may visit or the number of visits. Everyone is always friendly and you feel welcome and a valued part of the community.

Elizabeth Lodge care home goes out of their way to accommodate every resident according to their needs. They organised a Greek Easter dinner for all their Greek residents to in the lovely dining area. The home had put in a lot of effort to organise a sit down meal for the residents and their families.
There was Greek music, wine and Greek deserts. The staff were friendly and accommodating and Jan, the entertainer snd events organiser has organised everything perfectly. My mother and I enjoyed the meal. I thank the home for giving my mother and I the opportunity to celebrate Easter together as mum was unable to go home for the celebration. Thank you!

Mum stayed at Amberley Lodge for 4 weeks respite care.
Pre-admission paperwork was straightforward and the home welcomed visits from several family members to provide reassurance. Some initial medical-related 'teething issues' were quickly resolved, including regular visits by the home's GP.
Mum
settled in quickly and well. She particularly enjoyed the activities programme and company of other residents. She was well cared for and very well fed!
I wouldn't hesitate to use Amberley Lodge for future respite or permanent care if need arises

My friend was admitted to Ivy Grove after weeks in hospital. They were terribly frail. Their family visited 4 care homes in 1 day to choose best for her, and Ivy Grove was top....by far.
The whole place is exceedingly well run...from the calibre of staff, the staff/resident ratio, the kindness and
care of each member of the team, the light, serene atmosphere, the gentle generosity of the team, the 'can do' attitude. Really appreciated. There are fresh flowers, free drinks and biscuits, selfless staff to help. Really very impressive indeed. Thank you for your kindness, support, friendliness, respect, care. It's also spotlessly clean.
Reply from April Jones, Reviews Team at Ivy GroveThank you so much for this wonderful review. We are truly touched that, after visiting several homes, you felt Ivy Grove was the clear choice. Our team takes great pride in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, so it is incredibly rewarding to hear that these details made such a difference for your friend. I will be sure to share your kind words with the entire staff, they will be delighted. Thank you for trusting us with your friend's care.

My dad was at Southborough from April 2025 until December 2025 when he passed away. The staff at Soutborough are what make it. Dad was treated with care, compassion, and dignity throughout his time at Southborough. When dad passed away, we asked if we could have a memorial event at Southborough which,
despite being incredibly busy, the manager and lifestyle lead agreed to do. Dad's memorial was a lovely event which our family will remember forever- and we are grateful to the team for all of their help and support.

The staff have treated our loved one with genuine warmth, dignity, and respect, creating a true sense of home and belonging.
What has stood out most is the care & compassion shown by every member of the team. They have taken the time to understand not just care needs, but personal preferences, routines,
and the little things that make such a difference to quality of life.
Special occasions and birthdays are celebrated increasing the sense of community, friendship and connection. Nothing was ever too much trouble for staff.
As care needs became more complex, the level of professionalism and empathy grew stronger. The staff worked closely with hospice services to ensure comfort, dignity, and peace during end-of-life care. Their sensitivity, communication, and unwavering support meant everything.
We are deeply grateful for the dedication, kindness, and respect shown. Sherwood Grange is a place where residents are valued as individuals, & where families can feel confident of the best care.

I must say that my father who was very old and poorly with Alzheimer's dementia, presented Charlotte House with multiple issues which they dealt with in a very professional caring way which was certainly a relief to me as the worry for him was very concerning. I felt from the moment he moved in he was
safe and much happier than at home as the activities, entertainment and care given to him was top notch. So much so as a visiting relative I felt comfortable to pop in at any time . He reached end of life there and although sad his passing was dignified. Thank you Charlotte house x

Every time I visit the home dad looks well & content which makes me worry less about him The staff are always happy & helpful., so I have no concerns about the home at all .
They try to entertain the residents as much as possible and Interact with them to keep them stimulated. The food always looks
appetising but my dad isn't a big eater and that is my only criticism that they could put less on his plate.

Ivy Grove cared for our Dad as his health began to fail and he needed an end of life care plan. They could not have been more caring, enveloping Dad as part of the Ivy Grove family. They promptly sorted out any issues and settled Dad in with them. We know Dad enjoyed his time with them all and as a
family we remain enormously grateful for all their care and support not just with Dad but towards us as a family as well.

My husband has slowly settled into the home and is now used to their routines with help from the carers.
He enjoys the food provided, which is very good. The overall cleanliness is very good as well, and some of the activities he finds rather too infantile, but he seems to enjoy the parties.
If I
raise a concern of any kind, the admin staff do their best to look into it and get the problem resolved. He could do with more regular toiletries as he has become sore.
