Review of Smyth Lodge from Kevin G (Son of Resident) published on 31 July 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
On arriving at the care home you are greeted by a friendly face at the reception desk, the office staff are also available to help whenever required. For security all the internal and external doors require entry/exit codes. The café is also well stocked and open to all, offering items from the kitchen to give you an idea of what is on offer to the residents. On the residence floors the care staff are always friendly and available for any questions you may have. The home itself is well kept and clean throughout. A good variety of activities are on offer through the week and it's up to the resident whether to partake.

My Mum moved into Amberley Lodge in December 2025. From the moment Mum arrived staff were extremely welcoming and she settled in quickly. All staff are very kind with Mum, making her feel safe and cared for.
During a recent visit Mum referred to Amberley as 'home', which was so lovely to hear.

Review of Buchanan Court from Carroline H (Relative of Resident) published on 29 July 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
Obtaining infomation about the care home was great. The tour was very informative and confirmed our decision to use the respite care services. There were a few unforseen issues that arose when time came for our relative's admittance but they were swiftly dealt with. The time spent at the CH was good and provided a safe enviroment for our relative to relax, make new friends & be looked after.
The staff were always nice and friendly and on hand to help.

Review of Forrester Court from P X (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 July 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
My family and I would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone at Forrester Court for the exceptional care, kindness and compassion shown to my dad. Whenever I visit him, I always ask if he is happy and whether he likes the staff. His answer is always the same: he tells me he is very happy, that everyone is so kind, and that the staff look after him extremely well. As his daughter, hearing this gives me enormous comfort and reassurance. Every member of the team plays an important part in my dad's wellbeing. From the carers and nurses to the catering, housekeeping and all the support staff, everyone treats him with dignity, respect and genuine warmth. It is clear that they work together as a caring, professional team, and their dedication never goes unnoticed. Knowing that my dad is safe, happy and well cared for means the world to my family. We truly appreciate everything the staff do each day.
Thank you to every member of the Forrester Court Team.

Review of Smyth Lodge from L W (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 27 July 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
My grandad stayed at Smyth Lodge for a three-week respite stay following a long hospital admission, and I honestly can't thank the team enough for the care they gave him. After being in hospital for so long, we were naturally anxious about the next step, but the staff made him feel welcome from the moment he arrived. They treated him with genuine kindness, patience and dignity, which made such a difference to both him and our family. The communication with us was always reassuring, and it was clear that everyone genuinely cared about his wellbeing. He was encouraged to regain his confidence and independence while always receiving the support he needed. It was such a relief knowing he was in safe hands. The home itself was always clean, comfortable and had a lovely atmosphere. Every member of staff we came across was friendly and approachable, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble.
My grandad returned home feeling much stronger and happier than when he first arrived, and we will

Review of Charlotte House from Jeff B (Son of Resident) published on 17 July 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
My dad moved into Charlotte House in June last year. Sadly, he passed away this May, so he spent just under a year there. Looking back, I can honestly say it was the happiest he had been for many years. Dad loved winding up the staff with his sense of humour, and they always gave as good as they got. They treated him like a person, not just a resident, and that meant the world to both him and our family. Every single member of staff, along with the management team, was absolutely amazing. They were kind, caring, respectful, and always willing to help, not only with Dad but with all of us as a family. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble.
I will always be grateful to everyone at Charlotte House for making my dad's final year so happy, safe, comfortable, and full of dignity. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for him and for us. You will always have our gratitude.

Review of Ivy Grove from Wendy B (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 July 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
Mum stayed at Ivy Grove for two weeks on respite care. We had a lovely feeling for Ivy Grove from the moment we viewed it. Lovely, caring and friendly staff made us feel confident that Mum would get the care she deserved. My daughter visited Mum several times during her respite stay and reported excellent care, Mum was always happy and content. Lots of activites going on throughout her stay, although she chose not to participate, she was respected in her view and not forced to join in, which suited her quiet and private nature. Excellent choice of food and plenty of it! Mum loved the soups! Overall a lovely care home, professionally led with a caring and loving approach. Thank you, we hope to get Mum back in August for another respite.

Review of Bourne House from B Y (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 July 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
Mum transferred from a rehab centre to Bourne House & was resident there for about 9 weeks before she passed away. From the moment of arrival, she was treated with the utmost dignity & kindness by all the staff. Although bed-bound throughout, the level of care & compassion never wavered and we very much felt it was more akin to a family home than a care facility. This standard of care extended to all of us visiting Mum and we were always warmly welcomed & greeted and never felt we were inconveniencing the management and general staff in any way. Although Mum was unable to participate in any group activities, there always seemed to be something going on to entertain the residents (which we also enjoyed too!). We very much appreciated everything the wonderful staff did for Mum to make her final weeks as stress-free and peaceful as possible which was an enormous source of comfort to us. Thank you to all at Bourne House.

Review of Cedar View from Beverley N (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 July 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
My mum became a resident of Cedar View in May and to say that my sister and I were devastated that mum had to go into a care home is an understatement.. Mum has surprised us both and settled in so well, she loves all the staff and calls Cedar View "HOME" My sister and I will always be so grateful for the way the staff interact with our mum and ourselves, it has a fab family atmosphere and is kept spotlessly clean.
