Priceholme

from L H (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father found it quite difficult moving from his own home due to declining health, but the staff overcome his concerns with their kindness, thoughtfulness and determination to make sure he felt settled, which he now does.
There's always plenty going on and the staff are cheerful and helpful. I think
this is due to their Manager having a very 'can do' attitude, nothing is too much trouble.
Over Christmas the activities have been excellent and family are always welcome to join in.
I would recommend Priceholme as a safe, caring, welcoming home, and the food is excellent too.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My father-in-law has been living at Chapel Fields for a little over 3 years. He is very settled and happy.
Being in his late 90's, he doesn't join in many activities but likes to attend the services. He particularly enjoys listening to the chaplains playing the violin, but finds some of the other
musical entertainment a bit loud. He mostly enjoys the food but doesn't like rice, pasta or anything spicy. He is very well cared for by the friendly staff. Who are very helpful.

Staff are excellent at the best of times however I thought the run up to Christmas they went above and beyond for the residents. I was at a couple of events and watched them getting involved and helping out when they did not have too making sure there needs we're attended to then participating in events
which I found quite touching.

My husband has been a resident for 1 1/2 years. He is truly at home here. He is aware of all the carers and staff and is obviously comfortable with all around him. He needs a special chair as he is not comfortable in a normal armchair because it doesn't give him the support he needs so he tends to list
to the team side. When the rep from the special chair company came to measure him and by cut different styles of chair the manager several nurse and carers representative from management were there.

Although my mum only lived at Aughton Park Care Home for a month, the care she received there was excellent. All the staff, including the manager and administrator, took time to get to know her and to make all of us feel welcome. The care she received at the end of her life in particular was so person-centred,
dignified and respectful. I highly recommend this home.

Dad moved in to Laurel Court in December 2025. We cannot praise all the staff enough for the seamless way dad has settled in. All staff have been so friendly & professional and so caring. Dad is familiar with everyone and we can tell when we visit that he is happy there. They also have a laugh with
him & know what he is interested in. Managent & staff are so approachable,& everything we have requested has been dealt with quickly & efficiently. We cant praise everyone at Laurel Court enough.

My husband has been expertly cared for during the last two years. Management and staff listen to requests and always respond according to the needs of the resident. Every aspect of care is geared to the residents personal needs. Food is excellent, as is accommodation, and the carers are very helpful.
There is respect for each resident, who get opportunity to discuss their situation at the residents meeting. Singing, services and other entertainment with the Chaplain are enjoyed by all.

Mum was in isolation, staff caring and supportive and kind to the residents and also great support to the family with their needs too! Xmas day was lovely and all the activities beforehand. Hard work for the staff but enjoyable for residents and the family. Made Xmas exciting for all plus my grandchildren,
who are made welcome!

Home from Home.
For those of you who are at the time to find a home for your loved one, look no further.
It is a very difficult decision but necessary when extra care is needed.
Handsworth was recommended to me and what a great choice. My mother deserves to be looked after as she looked after us.
We feel so blessed that mum is in great care in a great environment. The staff are excellent, attentive and caring.
Thank you.

The staff are so good with the residents. Even the kitchen staff know everyone by name and take care to greet them by name as they walk by. Very impressive and it creates a real sense of a family.
Everywhere is very well run, clean and friendly. Whenever there is any kind of an incident I am always
informed immediately which I find really reassuring.
I really love Bradbury Grange and am so glad I was able to get a place there for my lovely sister!

The staff are fantastic and provide care, activities and support which makes my dad feel safe and secure and engaged with those around him.
Rachel and Adam run the place really well and
all staff are kind, patient and understanding.

Mum has lived at Anjulita since May 2025. She is very happy there due to the care, support and encouragement she gets every day. Everyone at Anjulita is part of this amazing care - reception, admin, catering, cleaning, laundry, managers and of course care team members. This is why it's so good. Everyone
works to support residents and their families. Having chaplains is also a brilliant help and enjoyed by mum.
When mum has been unwell, she is looked after even more. Much appreciated.

Ty Gwyn Care Home

My Mum Margaret spent the last year of her life as a resident at Ty Gwyn, and I have to say loved every minute of it.
The care my mum received was exceptional, and I want to say thankyou to everyone in the whole home for loving and respecting my mum in her final year.
There are too many people to
thank individually, and many that you don't even see, who work tirelessly , 24/7 to make sure all the residents have the best life possible. from the nurses, cleaners, carers ,kitchen staff and staff that work at night.
When we visited mum she would talk about staff we had never met, and we would question if these people existed, or if they were a figment of mums fading memory. Clearly her memory was still pretty good, as we finally met many of these people toward the end of mums very fulfilled life.
Mum loved all the entertainment, especially the games, singing and the Church services that happened every week.
God bless you all and thank you so much for loving and caring for my mum x
Reply from Val Stan, Home Manager at Ty Gwyn Care HomeThank you for such a glowing review. We are delighted that you feel your Mum was looked after so well and that this gave you peace of mind.
