Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Over the past two years my Dad has received the most wonderful care from the staff and volunteers at Aigburth. The care and support he is given is second to none and he loves the company. It has been a joy to see all the enrichment activities that are provided for Dad and the other residents including
music therapy, outings to a member of staffs allotment, visits from John the animal man and concerts. Very quickly Aigburth has become a home from home, not just for Dad but our family and friends when we visit.

This carehome is the standard that should be set for ALL other carehomes. It has strong and thoughtful leadership as well as staff who without exception are angels. My mother was resident for 18 months prior to her passing away. The quality of care my mother received from everyone connected to the home
was better than first class. Indeed the quality of care was not only first class but the the way the carehome facilities such as lounge, dining room, garden and bedroom as well as regular activities showed the highest quality of care was achieved. I have nothing but praise for Handsworth Carehome and thank them with all my heart for looking after my mum so well in the last 18 months of her life.

My husband was a resident from March 2025 -September 2025 approximately six months before he sadly passed away and the care that he was given was wonderful from the day he arrived and the staff gave him help with everything he did and they were very understanding and supportive when he was feeling ill
or down. I myself was made very welcome also our daughter and son.
So on behalf of my family I would like to thank everyone for all the care, love , support and attention given to him and us,once again a big thank you to you all.

Norwood

My Dad has been at Norwood since early August, first as a trial and now as a fully-fledged resident. The staff have been absolutely brilliant, and it's clear that care for the residents, and immediate family, is first and foremost in their minds. Great care was taken with my Dad as we moved from a trial
period to discussing with my Dad the need for him to stay full time. No problem is too small, and staff always have time to talk. Although my Dad is a bit of a loner, the staff are supporting my Mum's efforts to slowly but surely integrate him into the home community. My Mum can visit Dad at any time, with joint Sunday lunches a regular fixture. I've been able to borrow an electric powered wheelchair from the home to take my Dad out into Christchurch Park. The setting is great, and my Dad loves the food. Sarah and Mario have been very helpful in discussing the more practical aspects of care, from obtaining suitable furniture to council funding of Dad's place in the future.

My mother (resident) has chronic progressive MS and a personality disorder (amongst other things). Looking after her is challenging; she has capacity but can often make self-destructive choices and /or be unkind to others.
I recently attended her CHC review with nurse Bernie. I have directly suffered
and struggled with my mother's care for over 40 years. The CHC review is typically stressful and difficult to navigate. I just wanted to commend Bernie for her masterful handling of the situation. She speaks authentic truth with wisdom, care and compassion. I am so grateful.

My mum actually went into the Aigburth after my sisters and myself heard good recommendations about the care home ( mum was in a care home close to her actual Melton Mowbray home)
Mum as dementia.
We weren't disappointed with the care and attention mum received once admitted .
The staff are first
class and the facilities are second to none .
Mum goes out on regular trips from the home and events are regularly held actually in the home .
We are kept up to date on how mum is doing and if we want to ask any questions a member of staff is always on hand to handle our query .
All this really helps putting us at ease that mum is safe and well looked after on her current journey .
We all would recommend the Aigburth .

Lawnfield House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Both of my parents resided at Lawnfield House for more than 3 years until their very recent deaths. During that time they were treated with respect and compassion by all of the staff, who dealt with their complex health needs, hospital stays, and many other day to day issues in a friendly, supportive
and patient manner. This was extended to all visitors who were always welcomed.
Some things really stood out as making a difference:
Getting to know the residents and their families very well and encouraging everybody to join in.
Keeping us informed of any illness, concern and the overall well-being of our parents.
The size and layout of the care home. Lawnfield House has a small number of residents, with just a ground and first floor with some outside space, so it always felt intimate, safe and very caring.
We are extremely grateful to everyone at Lawnfield House for the love and attention they have shown to our parents and to us, and for making a difficult time so much easier.

Mapplewell Manor

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband was transferred into Mapplewell Manor from hospital following treatment for a chest infection. Although suffering from advanced Alzheimer's he had never previously experienced care other than at his own home and from me, his wife. Consequently he was a reluctant and often uncooperative resident.
To make matters worse, the four months he spent there were punctuated by visits to A&E and hospital stays, all of which made it even more difficult for him to settle. The amazing staff recognised and responded to the situation, never faltering in their attempts to integrate him into the community and establishing strong personal bonds. The standard of care was exceptional. It was also genuine. These wonderful people not only care for their residents they also care about them, making it a warm and safe environment.

Mum has been a resident at Priceholme for a few years now and she is very well cared for by dedicated management and staff.
The main areas within the building - entrance, lounge and dining room are light, bright, airy and welcoming. However the residents bedrooms are looking very tired and dated and
could do with bringing in line with the rest of the home. Management are aware this needs to be done and are working towards refurbishing - hopefully this can be done in the near future.

Mum was a resident at Cedar Lodge for 20 months and sadly passed away in October 2025.
Outstanding is the word I'd use for Cedar Lodge, from the moment mum was there she was so well looked after and cared for. The carers are absolutely amazing, so kind, polite and thoughtful towards the residents,
ensuring dignity and respect were maintained. Many of them will always hold a special place in my heart for the way they cared for my beautiful mum, they became an extended family to us.
Cedar Lodge is spotlessly clean and homely, so very different to other care homes we had seen.
There were always activities and the music/therapy was particularly special, seeing the residents respond and join in where they could was beautiful.

Going into Charnwood House has been an extremely positive experience for my mother. Mum has always maintained that she would not go in an home. She settled in quickly enjoying the interaction between staff and other residents and is very happy.
From the onset staff have been welcoming and helpful. Personal
care has been excellent. When I felt mum needed further medication, staff listened to my concerns and called the GP. After visiting several potential homes as soon as I entered Charnwood I felt mum would be happy there.
