Review of Newlands Care Home from J L (Mother of Resident) published on 10 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mum came to Newlands in January 2025 for six weeks respite, after a week or two my mum realised it would be in the best interest to be a permanent resident and so we started the process for Mum to stay permanently at Newlands. The care Mum has received has been excellent the staff are the same staff still there in the 1st day mum came to stay, they treat her with dignity, compassion & love & my mum is very happy living at Newlands. There nursing care is excellent as well, very supportive & caring. I go regularly to visit my mum and I'm treated like part of the family, my mum sees this and again, makes her feel at easy and feels at home. There is always something going on, from bingo, a singer, nursery & infant visits, pamper day & days out. We are very happy mum is at Newlands

Review of Kings Park Care Home from Margaret S (Wife of Resident) published on 7 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My husband has been at Kings Park for almost 6 months now + I am convinced I chose the best care home after visiting a few. The lounge is lovely with residents facing a television which not many people watch. With only 17 residents on the residential ground floor, it never feels grounded with some residents preferring to stay in their own rooms most of the time. The staff are wonderful + can't do enough for the residents to meet their needs, always with a happy cheerful + smiling face. The home is beautiful + clean, meals are ok given that the kitchen caters for about 40 residents. The activities co-ordinator does her best to identify different activities for the residents, including visits out but all too often cannot get sufficient numbers or transport to facilitate them. My husband is ony mildly cognitive impaired is disappointed of the lack of speaking coming into the home to speak on various subjects - as offered in the brochure - sadly with with vascular dementia + lewy body only - he has noone to talk to but does have lots of visitors who are made very welcome in the home.

Review of Kings Park Care Home from Ruth J (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My mum Norma has been at King Park since Dec'25 All the staff are kind, caring and compassionate. They have welcomed mum and family and have always involved us with whats going on with mum/care The nurses Lindsey and Shawna listen to our concerns and act on them. Thank you. Wonderful. We didn't really want mum to move from her previous home as she gets anxious with change. She is safe, comfortable and well looked after The care workers are all also wonderful, special mention Denise, Lisa and Soriti

The care given to my Mum at Kings Park has been exceptional. I have experience of other care homes in the area, and they don't compare. In particular, the staff here are extremely caring to residents and relatives.

Kings Park is an excellent care home. My Dad was admitted here in February 2026. The care staff are excellent. They are kind and attentive; nothing is too much trouble for them. They make you feel like part of the family. I would recommend Kings Park to anyone looking for a home for their relative.

Review of Greatwood House from Sarah K (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

It has now been two months since dad moved into Greatwood house, and we couldn't be more grateful for the kindness, compassion and support we have received.

The staff have taken the time to really get to know Dad as a person-his routines, his preferences and what makes him feel comfortable. Seeing the genuine warmth and respect they show him every day has given us great reassurance that he is receiving truly individualised care.

The communication with our family has been excellent. We always feel listened to, kept informed and welcomed whenever we visit. Nothing ever seems too much trouble.

What has touched us most is the care and understanding shown to mum. Leaving her husband of many years in someone else's care was an incredibly difficult step, but the staff have supported her with such patience, empathy and kindness. Their compassion has made a challenging transition so much easier for all of us.

We were so happy with the care Mum received at Westwood Lodge. All the staff appear genuinely dedicated & really do go the extra mile. Mum was treated with dignity & compassion throughout her stay. The room, choice of food & varied activity programme was all excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Westwood Lodge to anyone. Thank you to all who made her short stay there as pleasant as possible. Thank you too for caring for the family at this difficult time.

Review of Meadow Bank House Care Home from C P (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My mother went into Meadowbank Care Home due to a deterioration in her health, she had various malignancies and struggled to walk. Mum needed two carers to help her with her everyday needs. The carers, the nurses, the catering staff and the wellbeing staff were all amazing and helped mum with her needs. She settled into the home and enjoyed her three meals a day in the dining room and her T.V time in the lounges and also in her own room. Also having her hair done and cared for.

Review of Millbrook Care Centre from Wendy J (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We cannot thank the staff enough. Dad lived here from 2019 until recent passing: June 2026. The care he received over the yrs was truly exceptional. We live in Spain, it was a comfort knowing he was in safe, kind, professional hands. Team treated him like family, their dedication gave us complete peace of mind. We will be forever grateful for the dignity, love, respect they showed him every single day.
MENTION TO THE MANAGER: Claire: Has been an absolute godsend to our family. Living in Spain, managing my Dad's care from a distance was hard, but she went far beyond her duties as a Manager. She cared for us just as much as she cared for him. Her communication was outstanding, keeping us constantly supported/informed. Acted as a true carer for our family during his time.

MENTION TO ADMIN: Thank you. Managing paperwork and logistics from a distance could have been incredibly stressful, but her emails were always so lovely, warm, and reassuring. Responding fast to all queries

Review of Millbrook Care Centre from Peter B (Son of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father had been living alone for several months, and we had noticed his health deteriorating. He was reluctant to go into respite care but eventually agreed to a two-week stay at Millbrook Care Home, knowing he could return home at any time. He is now in his second week and has already chosen to extend his stay by another two weeks, which speaks volumes.
I can't praise Millbrook enough. It has the feel of a five-star hotel. Dad enjoys receiving his favourite newspaper each morning, and he says the meals are exceptional with plenty of choice.
Every member of staff is friendly, caring and welcoming. A special mention to the lady with the ginger hair, who works tirelessly, chatting with residents, serving drinks and ice cream, organising activities, leading exercise classes and even providing pedicures. Her kindness and enthusiasm are wonderful.

Thank you to everyone at Millbrook for making Dad feel so happy and well cared for.

Review of Averill House Care Home from Tracy S (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I would like to say a huge thankyou to Clare and her team for the care given to my Dad. Security entering the home is excellent, regarding entry and signing in doesn't give away what the names of residents are? Since being in Averill house my Dad has been out in his wheelchair, ate meals in the lounge, watched Tennis in the lounge and been involved in the homes fantastic activities. The staff keep us updated on any health matters and I am very happy my Dads finally got a new lease of life x
