Always a pleasure to see mum have such excellent attentive care, in a friendly and responsive environment.
Struck today by the effort that's gone into the surroundings over Easter; new furniture, window boxes and fresh flowers everywhere. A really uplifting home away from home.

From the moment we walked into Cleves Place Care Home we had a feeling of how calm the place felt. You are greeted by clean well presented smiley staff, the place is lovely and clean and smells really fresh. The rooms are all very well presented, the residents all look happy, clean and well cared for.
All the staff were so kind and helpful. They have a really good menu and the food looked really nice. My husbands clothes are all washed and ironed and are all put back into his room neat and tidy. The manager and staff keep us informed about my husband at all times and we are really happy with how the place is run.

My mother joined Grangewood in June 2024. She was made to feel very welcome and soon settled into the 'Grangewood community'. The level of care she receives is excellent, carers are always pleasant, caring and very professional. This leads to very high standards. There is a wide range of activities
to meet each resident's needs both inhouse and in the wider area. The home is always clean and tidy and well kept and presented. Standards are very high and Mam very happy.

Parsons Grange always strive to support their residence. They listen to concerns and respond quickly. My Mum is happy with the care she receives and the food is good and plentiful. There is continuity of care with the key members of staff around Mum which we feel is so important to the understanding
of care and for my Mum's mental health and confidence, knowing the staff know her and they way she likes things.

Lauder Lodge

from P S (Regular Volunteer) published on 6 May 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I've been visiting Lauder Lodge with my therapy dog, Bonnie for the past year or so. We have visited other care homes before but this is by far the best.

When I visit I am able to observe staff interacting with residents and they are always so kind, supportive and professional, whether they are

admin, nursing, care, activity organisers or domestic staff.

Physically the Home is bright, well maintained and very comfortable with a range of activities provided for everyone, geared to their capabilities.

There's always a warm welcome from staff and residents when Bonnie and I visit. If I need to go into a home when the time comes I'd be very happy for it to be Lauder Lodge.

Following a few weeks at another care home, Skylark was a huge improvement, and my father-in-law is now very settled. Skylark is fantastic.

Ferndown Manor

from Michael A (Son of Resident) published on 6 May 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We viewed several homes in the area and my sister her husband a decent one we all agreed on this one. Definitely not disappointed the staff are all very friendly and approachable for and queries that we have regarding Mums care and well-being your always greeted by a friendly receptionist and the management
are particularly good at sorting out any questions you have. Mum has top level care and is invited to join in on any activities that are happening on that day, there is always something good going on with the activities staff. The home is always clean and smells good unlike some that I have visited and the coffee shop is a good area for a chat with other residents families. Mum seems to be happy staying at the home and did make some nice friends when she first moved there. All in all 10/10.

Ladden View

from Sue L (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 May 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Sadly my father in laws stay at Ladden View was brief as he passed away whilst resident. He had been in respite care at another local home prior to moving to Ladden View and the experience we had during respite was far from a happy one. From my initial contact with management, he was admitted within
2 days and it felt like a real rescue. Walking into Ladden on that first day was like walking into a 5 star hotel, the staff immediately took over, helping Dad to settle in and making him welcome. Quite honestly I breathed a sigh of relief to see him smile again after his prior experience.
Unfortunately Dads health deteriorated rapidly and within a couple of weeks he was confined to his bed as the Cancer took its hold, but never once did the staff let their standards drop, their attentiveness was 100% and they most definitely made his last days as comfortable as they could possibly be under the circumstances.
The Care Home is amazing, I really can't praise it enough.

Review of

Charlton Lodge

from Lynne T (Sister of Resident) published on 6 May 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

When my brother initially moved to Charlton lodge all seemed well. But after a few weeks things went horribly wrong. Although Careuk staff had assessed him, it became clear that they could not meet his complex needs. Horrifically last week the family were informed with half a days notice that he had
to leave. He has cerebral palsy, learning difficulties and early stage dementia. And the best interests meeting prior to his move said that he couldn't go home.
It was only the kindness and compassion of the deputy manager, who was proactiive in finding another home (not in the CareUK group), which saved the day. Other staff members obviously need to go on training courses urgently.

Chapter House

from A C (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 May 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Cleanliness, care, facilities excellent. Further improvement with Food preparation and presentation necessary. And size of portion! Older people often prefer smaller portions yet not listened to, despite in care plan.
Activity programme needs further work. 'Doing the Laundry' is not a very imaginative
activity. Pity that activities and food are not as good as they once were. Cannot fault care, cleanliness and the wonderful carers/ senior carers themselves.

Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Chapter House

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We’re pleased to hear that you are satisfied with the overall cleanliness, care, and facilities, and we greatly appreciate your kind words about our wonderful carers and senior carers.

We also understand your concerns regarding food preparation, presentation, and portion sizes. We recognise that many of our residents prefer differing portion sizes, and we will make sure to revisit this with the team to ensure that care plans are fully followed and that we better cater to individual preferences.

Your feedback on the activity program is also invaluable, and we’ll certainly take it into consideration as we work on offering more engaging and varied activities that meet the needs and interests of our residents. We are committed to constantly developing and providing more creative and stimulating activities for all residents.

Thank you again for your feedback. We’re committed to making continuous improvements to enhance the overall experience for all residents, and your input plays a crucial role in that process. If you have any further suggestions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Home Manager directly who is always happy to listen.

Best wishes,

Staff are very caring and supportive towards the residents and go out of their way to make mam's stay at home as happy and fulfilled as possible. Staff even take mam to communion every month. Collingwood Court arrange lunches for families to attend for mothers day, Easter etc and they put on an afternoon
tea for mam's birthday when the family came in to see her.

Ridley Manor

from D T (Power of Attorney of Resident) published on 2 May 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I had to find a care home for my elderly neighbour he is 93 and has dementia nursing staff and social services said he could no longer have at live at home on his own. Never married. I have been his neighbour for 54 years and have POA he has no family, so was left to me to find him a care home, he has
always lived in the home on the end, so went to see Ridley Manor. I liked what I saw so he went into respite care for 4 weeks. Settled in well so now in for longterm. He has a lovely room, the staff are very caring. He is looked after very well, he loves the food, he's kept nice and clean, likes all the staff. Ridley Manor have put my mind at rest, to know I have done the right thing for my neighbour.

Mill View

from K R (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 May 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My relative has been at Mill View for 18 months. In all that time I can not fault the caring and professional staff who go above and beyond at all times and in all situations. The care home provides a welcoming, safe, and well equipped indoor and outdoor environment for both the residents and visiting
families. The leisure staff are amazing at providing imaginative and fun activities throughout the day often providing tailor-made activities for residents based on their own individual interests and needs. Regular updates enable the care team, professionals, and relatives the opportunity to ensure that the best possible provision is put in place for residents. Relatives feel that they are involved in their loved one's care. I am truly grateful for the exceptional care that my relative is receiving at Mill View.
