Quayside Care Home

from Ian S (Son of Resident) published on 15 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother, who has dementia has been in Quayside since December 2024 initially as a placement and then permanent from April 2025. On the many times I have visited at random times I can only praise all staff that I have spoken to and seen attending others in Jupiter house on how attentive they are with
all residents. I have attended when there is some form of entertainment or activity on the go and all staff get involved when possible ensuring everyone is included. If there has been an incident or concern then I have been made aware at that time. This was the right choice for my mother's needs. Can't thank all members of staff enough.

My Mam was admitted to Melbury Court when she needed nursing care and it was impossible for us as her family to tend to all her care needs at home. It was the last thing she wanted or we wanted for her. We spent weeks searching for the right place, and we found it at Melbury. From the minute we entered
the premises we were so impressed by the facilities and the warmth we felt instantly. During her months as a resident her care was exceptional and the staff worked hard to support her and us during a difficult time. From the skilled and dedicated nurses, to the obliging handyman, to the catering staff who visited every day and created bespoke menus, to the cleaner who made time to chat, to the management who ensured her care, to the tireless supportive care assistants. Every single member of staff treated her and us with dignity, respect and humanity. I can't recommend Melbury enough if you're looking for a place for your loved one. Thank you to all at Melbury.

We are very happy with the care my dad is receiving here. The staff know him well and it is lovely to see how they interact with him. We enjoy looking at the photos in his folder showing activities he has taken part in and these can be a good starting point for a discussion. It's always such a welcoming
environment, whenever we come and everyone is so helpful. We're so pleased to have found this place and know that dad is being so well looked after.

It's definitely the staff at Dale Park who make the home as welcoming as it is. Not only do they look after our mum with patience and
good humour but they also take the time to check on us and how we are coping with the changes that are happening and the unknown road ahead.

Sadly this is not the first time of submitting a review however after my most recent findings I did have to log a formal complaint about the home manager after information came to light about them. To then find out this isn't an isolated issue with other concerns raised about the deputy home manager.
Sadly not seen much improvement from the home in the time since my last review. With much of the same still being an issue food is just same thing every week with poor quality.

Dennis has settled in very well after a difficult start. The support staff (both carers & admin) went above & beyond to help us all as a family to adjust to Dennis moving into full-time care. We feel Dennis is extremely well looked after with all his needs being met. Staff are always very friendly and
happy to help with any queries we may have. We wouldn't want Dennis to be anywhere else.

My mother has been here in the care home for about 18 months now. I fly over from Belfast regularly to spend precious time with her. Every time I visit my mother is very happy and content, which means so much to me as her son. She has settled in very, very well, and for that I am very grateful. The
staff and management are exceptional and always greet with warmth. I can't fault this care home, and thanks to all the staff and management who look after my mum so well.
